(CNN) When Coral Springs police officers arrived at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on February 14 in the midst of the school shooting crisis, many officers were surprised to find not only that Broward County Sheriff's Deputy Scot Peterson, the armed school resource officer, had not entered the building, but that three other Broward County Sheriff's deputies were also outside the school and had not entered, Coral Springs sources tell CNN. The deputies had their pistols drawn and were behind their vehicles, the sources said, and not one of them had gone into the school.

Apparently a lot of animosity building up between CSPD and Broward. Story just keeps getting worse

Two guys were already fired/resigned with no dignity, so this isn't surprising in the least.

When does push come to shove and DOJ steps in?

Kind of makes you wonder if they are trained or told not to enter and engage in those situations?

Like the other said 1 guy could be said to be scared, but 4 shows more of a training problem

I think there will be a temptation to go heavy on the police blaming to take the heat off the gun issue, but that isn't really what I'd like to see

I'd like to see that frickface Scott Israel resign in disgrace, though.

The more that comes out about this incident, the more it stinks to high heaven.

Just doing what they were told to do! You won't convince me otherwise. All part of the plan.

He ignored another precinct that got to the scene first.

This dude needs to be tared and feathered...at least.

Before this is said-and-done, I'd bet even money Deputy Scott Peterson was ORDERED by Israel's Office to stay in place. Just wait for it.

It seems like cops have lots of bravado and courage when it's 5 cops on one unarmed man. With an armed shooter, not so much.

No, its proof that you prog filth's argument that all guns should be banned and that if there is trouble you should call the police (the guys with guns) to come protect you has been destroyed...
