Duncan received the wrath of his fellow Republicans during the 2020 presidential election when he sided with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) over Trump in certifying the election results. In his convention address, Duncan noted how he and his family needed security during that time period due to threats following Trump’s rhetoric on the election.
“These days our party acts more like a cult, a cult worshiping a felonious thug,” he said.

What he did at the DNC last night is political suicide IMO. The Democrats will never accept him and he just alienated a strong majority of Republicans.

He's pretty well off, I don't know that it's the money so much as the adulation from the left who'll suck off any nominal "conservative" who goes against the GOP. McCain thrived on it.
