Seems like he fled after being challenged on his SNAP viewpoint.
I don't know if he works for the government, but he sure acts like it.
"Everything is fine with SNAP. People need it. Now move along."
Zero critical thinking. Just accept the status quo.

I’m thinking he worked for the government too.
His racist comment pissed me off though. Basically, I’m a redneck drunk who cannot think past high school level because I would like to limit people who receive snap benefits from gambling at a casino, going to a strip club, or buying alcohol or cigarettes.

It used to be shameful to accept any kind of welfare. The restrictions listed in the OP and throughout this thread would bring that back somewhat as a public sentiment.
Of course some fall on hard times, but most here are talking about people that live off welfare and have more kids to get more money.

That's a nonsensical standard you are setting. He needs to know every disabled person in order to make an obvious comment about disability?

The ideal solution would be not to have foodstamps in the first place, but if we're going to have them I don't see any problem with them coming with strings attached.
Thad said the OP's premise is, of course, silly.

All you have to do is require people to swipe their drivers license or ID, if swipeable. If it isn’t swipeable then you should have to provide a form of ID that is then run through the same database of individuals who receive snap benefits.
I’ve been saying this forever.. you know what we really need in this country? More databases. I’m in support of RFID chips implanted at birth. If we link it to our Google search data we can keep people with Columbine obsessions from buying guns, too!
Seriously.. remember when we actually gave a shite about our privacy? Yeah you’re right.. me neither.

They will just get someone else to purchase it for them. Make it a felony to purchase cigarettes or alcohol for a person receiving snap benefits punishable by a minimum of a year in prison with hard labor.
Also, I know we have the highest percentage of incarcerated citizens in the world.. but this is just good policy! Think of all the lives that will be saved.

We could save the postage of delivery for all forms of welfare checks and food stamps by sending them in bulk packaging to the closest liquor store of the recipient.
That way the recipient can pick them up where he does his banking, buying his lottery tickets and purchasing his Malt Liquor.

It's really a simple formula. Middle and upper class paying taxes so that vulnerables can collect bennies.
Vulnerables spend their cash in casinos which are taxed. Government collects more revenue to make up for bennies handed out.
Government has created an entitled dependency class which will never vote against their own handouts, money will forever flow in to the government.

I would much rather them hand out commodities, to be honest.

Holy shite ya'll sound like a bunch of fricking commies hahaha. You are worried about a program that litterally cost pennies and want to regulate it and make the government pay more to regulate it even further than the actually cost of it. White ppl are going to be affected the most sense they take up most of the population who are on food stamps. Odyssey is right damn ya'll some fricked up ppl. I mean damn ya'll. Hey this is America lets limit ppls freedoms and pick on the poor ones for costing us and extra 10 cent every paycheck and be okay with subsidizing huge banks and oil billionaires that cost us far more. Bunch of fricking clowns.

There is already a database full of every snap receipent. All you would have to do is require strip clubs and casinos to swipe all IDs. This is not more government or more databases.
I love how some people are so dense or pretend to be so dense in order to stifle accountability and responsibility.

This just came up in my life today.
Stopped at Casey's this morning to fill up with gas, ran into get a drink as well so didn't pay at the pump. I'm in line and the guy in front of me is buying 4 sodas and a dozen donuts, he whips out his EBT card and pays for those, then tells the cashier "I also need X lottery cards" and pays cash for $40 worth the lottery tickets
Yes, I said something. I'm a dick like that , no he wasn't stupid enough to say anything back. He just took his ill gotten items and wandered off.
However, I believe it would cost more to monitor these assholes than it would to just let them get away with this type of stuff , so let's just concentrate government resources on catching actual fraud, while subjecting these type of fools to public ridicule.

You call 5% of the state budget pennies?
Not even going to ask if you understand the other economic benefits of getting people off their butts and into a job, because I already know you don't understand.
By the way, based on your post I'm 95% certain you are on food stamps.

If that is what you want for food stamp recipients then lets do the same for Eaton Corp, McDermott International, Iberdrola, NextEra Energy, NRG energy, Bank of America, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Boeing, GE. Accept all their owners, board memebers, and executives can't go to any sporting event, buy airplanes, well honestly antyhing other than necessities because they receive well over 150 Billion while SNAP if well under half that. Funny thing is 93.2% of SNAP costs go straight to recipients while corporate subsidies don't go to the workers in those industries it goes to higer salaries for executives. The crazy thing is the government who can't run anything right actually does a much more efficient job in providing SNAP than the corporations who take far more in tax payer money.

Commies? Really?
I think it’s perfectly fair that if you are on state aid, the taxpayers should be allowed to decide what you can and cannot eat with those funds
