Ideally you'd just be able to freeze out and or lightly bully these people out of the country.

The problem with enclaves are that they provide a pocket where that's not really possible.

The question to ask, the type Cubbies et al won't ever answer, is whether or not it makes any sense whatsoever to have people like this who share no common culture, values, religion, beliefs, way of life, etc. with the community/country they reside in.

I have had to be on the opposite end of legal matters from the Brother's Food Mart guys on SEVERAL occasions and let me tell you they are among the biggest pieces of shite you will ever come across

Total scumbags

They change the businesses hands among their family constantly in case they get sued so you never know who to serve, they evade taxes, file bankruptcy, etc etc

They are total rats

Local LE should ignore any calls from this place. Local residents should ignore them too.

Bake the cake! This board supports forcing private businesses to extend their services to everyone.
Was BP asking them to make them something specific that counters their beliefs? Or were they customers wanting to buy what they have for general public sale??
Does Louisiana have a statute making BP agents a “protected class?”

I need a refresher. Is it legal for a public business to discriminate like this against a specific group?
Yes, absent a protected class statute.

Personally, I disagree with those court rulings which have upheld the very notion of a “protected class,“ but they do exist.

Like it or not, Colorado has such a statue protecting gays, and (to my knowledge) Louisiana does not have one protecting border patrol agents.

The poli board does, apparently.

What new rules? What were the old ones?

It's a private business. They aren't publicly funded. It's a private, for-profit business. What "public service" did they provide?

Help me understand. Does every business have to provide their services to every individual no matter what?

I graduated from an all-girl high school. Are they legally obligated to allow boys to attend if they want to because it is a "public" school, using your very loose standards?

This store should be able to deny service to ICE

And another store should be allowed to deny service to gays or minorities

The Border Patrol should be in Kenner for one reason and it should be obvious when they look around in Kenner.

Eat good seafood anywhere around there.

I support the owners' ability to do this. I do not support their decision to do this.

I think a business should be able to do what they want (within reason). I also think a business is stupid for turning away paying customers.

And liquor licenses shouldn't be used by the government to force private companies to comply with what the government wants. To the people who liked this idea...you are idiot democrats but just don't realize it.

You’re suggesting “lightly bullying” people out of a country as if that’s a normal or acceptable civic strategy. That alone should make everyone pause.

And to your question that I “won’t ever answer”: plenty of people in this country don’t share the same culture, religion, values, or way of life. That has been true since the colonies.

If anything, your comment proves that the real threat to shared values is people who think social cohesion is achieved by harassing anyone who doesn’t fit their preferred mold. I’m not sure how that aligns with the “American values” you think you’re defending.

Just deport them back to the 3rd world. One strike policy. You come here, act like a 3rd worlders, you go back to your 3rd world shithole immediately. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Gone.

Yes. And they wanted to come here to be free and be Americans.

You’re knighting for people that use people like you. They don’t care to be productive in our society. They just use it. They are parasites.
