You know what made me act right in grade school? Getting my arse whipped by a wooden paddle.
We would have leveled our school had not the teachers whacked us with 5 times the power of those taps. And that was the women teachers...the men teachers made us tough guys cry like wimps. And we were all from functional and disciplined 2 parent families.
Needless, that Principal is in trouble for just the optics and feeling based narrative. $$$$$ for the hidden camera; could be a scam strategy. Never know nowadays.

one football coach/history teacher who took great pride in completely knocking you over the desk with a one handed swing.
It wasn’t PE if you didn’t get at least one lick before class was over. ??

Paddling is still legal in Florida what is the issue.

We got hit up to a certain point. Ruler to the back of the calf and rt into the corner facing the wall.
Prob worked, I tried not to cause trouble in middle and hs, during class at least. Lunch and in between class at the lockers was a diff story.

My granny could make a switch snap..after she made you go to the yard and get one.
To this today, I have no idea why she has so many switches when my current yard appears to have zero.
Did she plant those on purpose??

Hell, our teachers used to name their paddles and hang them on the wall. I distinctly remember one named "The Board of Education".
Ours did too.
In fact, the English teacher i mentioned, Mrs. Walker, had her paddle's name elegantly burned into it in fine Victorian script and lacquered so thick it shined like glass.
"Old Hickory". And that motherfricker HURT
If you ever got swats from Mrs. Walker, you never got them again. If you ever saw her swat anyone, you never gave her a reason to do the same to you. I saw her a few weeks ago and we laughed about that old paddle which, unfortunately, she said the school made her take home.

vice principal at my school had a paddle with holes drilled in it, painted black, with the name "Leroy" painted on it in white letters.
He was a 5'6", 230 lb fireplug. You didn't want any part of him wielding Leroy.

What's wild is that they did this in front of the parent. The big question is did the mom object and then they did it against her wishes, or did she agree to it so she could film it?
I don't know if you baws ever had kids but 6 year olds are normally pretty insane and aren't really in the arse whoopin' age range yet.

Normally I'd be like "I took paddling as a kid, no problem". Now a days, that's just a dumb move considering the damage a lawyer or media can do with that.

I was a regular in Mr Woods office. Dude could swing like he was about to hit a grand slam.
Hated getting paddled. Because they would also call my mother who would give me the belt when I got home. Then dad would give me another tap or two because “ you mother couldn’t swing hard enough to kill a fly”
I finally learned to stop doing stupid things.

You better believe that girls baby mama is going to lawyer up. She should have coached the child to throw in a few "I can't breathe...I can't breathe"

I'm in the over 50 crowd that grew up getting my fair share of school whippings. I also remember having to pick my switches when I screwed up at home. Most of them I deserved.
While I'm generally ok with spanking this specific video bothers me.
First, no teacher will spank my child in my presence. That's my job.
Second, that's a big woman with a big paddle with an assistant holding down the child. That was overkill. At the age of six, the message could have been made with less force such a a ruler on the hand or perhaps on the arse.
While Florida allows spanking, that district bans the practice so that principal may go to jail.
I simply don't trust teachers in these times like I did when I was a kid. Every teacher that busted my arse I had respect for and I think they cared about us more.

Big deal. They whooped arse all of the time when I was in elementary school. I remember Mrs. Jones for third grade at Jefferson Terrace with her wood paddle, and she wasn’t afraid to use it.
My grandfather was a school principal from the mid-50’s through the mid-70’s. When my old man was in school there, I guess more was expected of him because his father was the principal, and was always getting in trouble for dumb shite. So down to the office he would go and get his whooping from dad/principal. Then he got home he would get get a whooping again for the same offense. My grandfather would say, “The whooping at school was from the principal. This one is from your daddy!”

I had a buddy that would fold up notebook paper and put it in his back pockets and pants. He just knew was going to happen every day.
