And then chances of ever electing a GOP President again are slim to none.

I know felons. They aren't the type to cut a chunk out of their day to vote.
This will have very little impact.

1 million ex felons can vote in 2020
Posted on 11/7/18 at 6:21 am to TROCKS50
i don't think it's going to be as big of an impact as you're saying, but it will have an effect
only 30k applicants during the existence of this system. there just aren't going to be as big of a % of that 1M who even try to get registered, let alone then go vote. you're dealing with the lowest participating demographic in the country

According to the Florida Commission on Offender Review, only 3,005 of more than 30,000 applicants had their voting rights restored through the system since Scott implemented it.

I abstained on this one but I could see arguments for both sides. Currently, the Governor grants clemency, which is a slipper slope if we get a crazy lib in there.
Our state voted Yes on everything except increasing the damn homestead tax exemption .

Some quick math. 1.5 million just regained voting rights.
Let’s say 80% are Democrats. That is 1.2 Million.
Say only 25% of those Democrats vote (low ball). That is is 300,000 more Democrats state wide.
Now go look at the vote tallies in Florida from last night and 2016.
Yup, Florida is gone blue.
(This doesn’t even consider the Puerto Rico transfers who will vote in 2020)

I voted for it...why? If someone fricks up they should kicked in the nuts REALLY HARD but if they do everything the state mandates of them, let 'em vote again.

Am I the only one who has met conservative felons?
They do exist.
They do exist.

In my mind the handwriting is on the wall. Trump will be the last Republican President in our lifetime. Fla is loaded with Puerto Rican’s, New York influx and felons voting. In addition, our colleges are converting our kids to liberalism plus the press is 100% lib except for Fox. Not a pretty picture.

Is your argument that most of Florida’s felons are Republicans? How off is 80% Democrats, 20% Republicans?
Posted on 11/7/18 at 6:30 am to Redleg Guy
So by your comments you are proving that Democrats don’t really care at all about the former felons and Puerto Rican’s. It’s all just a ploy to gain Democrat voters.
Classy group those Democrats.

I voted against it but it doesn't really bother me because they can't vote until full sentence is served including parole. Also no murders, raptist, etc. can regain their right to vote. We will be a swing state no matter what now with a bunch of northerners moving here in record numbers but for now let's enjoy the win for the Republicans

Puerto Ricans a much larger factor, look at a state map and how the people voted, that big blue blob between Tampa and Orlando, thats little PR.
Corrruption ruined your island so lets move to Florida and ruin it.

None of what you said changes the math. Numbers are numbers, and Democrats just picked up a HUGE number of voters they didn’t have in a state that was always razor thin.
Posted on 11/7/18 at 6:37 am to Redleg Guy
How racist are you? You must assume that all convicted felons are black, Democrat voters?
Posted on 11/7/18 at 6:38 am to Choupique19
Exactly. There are white collar felons too
