Guess we’ll just have to keep the borders closed, severely limit immigration, and pass the SAVE Act. I don’t hold much hope for the latter with the gutless Republican RINOS.

Look at the school yard of any elementary school in Texas or California (two states I’ve lived in for a considerable amount of time) and you would think we live in Latin America.

All SCOTUS did was enforce the ruling. If SCOTUS started ignoring the direct text of the Constitution then it would not be long before the second amendment was done away with because of the placing of a comma.

Unclear to me that the child of an undocumented immigrant is “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States.
I think SCOTUS made an interesting leap here, but I will support it. If our lawmakers want to change birthright citizenship they should do it with an amendment.

No. The fact that we lead in innovation, finance, technology, medical research, automation, etc. The fact that we have the most vibrant artists and writers. The fact that our environment is clean and wildlife populations are thriving. The fact that we are the most food, fiber, energy, and resources secure country on earth.
The fact that my kids are healthy and thriving and doing great with incredible opportunities in front of them.
So much to be hopeful and thankful for. I could go on for hours about the future of America

A constitutional amendment has to pass with 2/3rds majority in both houses of Congress. There is no way in hell that a democrat is voting Yea on an amendment doing away with birthright citizenship. So it is pointless to argue it one way or another.

Section 1 of the 14th Amendment states "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
The SCOTUS' hands were tied with the language in Section 1, which was based on the 1898 Supreme Court case United States v. Wong Kim Ark. The Amendment needs Congressional work to be reworded, and the states need to pass it. Then there is no choice but to enforce the proper approach.

The organization and financial support by Democrats and Liberals for illegal immigration has gone off the deep end over the last 8-10 years. Well funded with lots of financial support, legal support in the form of legal representation for illegals, and 2 past presidents refusing to enforce border law.

Everyone that believed a “conservative” majority on the court kept the Republic safe has been wrong for years. Roberts proved that the Dems didn’t need to pack the court with his Obama care ruling
