Selfish. He knew He was going to recuse Himself...but He wanted to be AG, so He didn't tell Trump. From there, the whole Muh Russia thing got out of control (assuming it is).
Elsewise, the Trump Team is bidding time and "fundamentally changing" the Bureaucratic makeup of the Obama Deep State, and gathering incriminating evidence on others. If they pull the trigger and expose the Deep State (criminal corruption), given the former/current power of the MSM/Deep State...the public political *Obstruction of Justice* narrative plays to Dems electoral advantage. He wont do that. Trump is playing the 'victim' card to piss off the Base, until after a Red wave in the Mids; after that, it's game on.
