Crew chief doesn't mean person with the controls. Especially on a training flight.

In this context, it'll never mean "person with the controls". Crew Chiefs are enlisted personnel that fly for maintenance purposes.

There's a reason Trump brought up DEI.

When I was flying CH-53Es in the 80s/early 90s we usually only had 1 crew chief. Once we went overseas we'd have an additional crew member in back.

I shouldn’t have to point this out, but based on this info - the instructor was the one talking on the radio, and he answered in the affirmative that they had the CRJ in sight.

They did not.

She was flying, but he failed to properly identify the traffic as well.

Title is very assuming, even being evaluated the instructor pilot can be the one on the sticks and also if anything is unsafe it’s up to everyone on board to speak up.

So long as you included DEI, you're good. DEI has become the new way to pass the buck and assign blame....whether it was true or not in the instance.

Not all problems are caused by DEI's but 100% of DEI's cause problems.

I was an AO on Huey’s and we required 1 pilot for testing with AO/CC. Any flight on schedule had 2 pilots. No consolation but glad there was only 3. We were also allowed to front seat on cobras during testing or travel for weight since HMLAs have both aircraft.

I'm guessing they will conduct training and evaluation flights somewhere else now, especially at night

Why is a female pilot interesting?

Probably because they can't drive, can't fly, and vote according to their feelings
