Why am I not surprised that you “work” for the federal government?

You live a soft life on the back of John Doe taxpayer, as shown by your fat investment accounts .

You missed the part where these people aren’t being paid for the work they have done or presently doing.

I tend to think early withdrawals from retirement accounts should be allowable and taxed as ordinary income anyway.

We wanted the republican black woman to win governor in Virginia.

Was that your choice as well?

thankfully have money I can pull from investments, but most of my coworkers do not.

For those of us who do, we are forced to choose between paying “double taxes” since our back pay will also be taxed. However, we don’t know how long the shutdown will be.
You and your coworkers should never have been used as leverage, but you were.

Folks who had to tap into disproportionate tax scenarios should be made whole ... 100%

However ... when the Senate POS's finally decide to do their jobs, and pass a clean CR, hopefully you and your co-workers will have a new perspective as to how Dems (whom Fed Workers vote overwhelmingly for) actually view you. In the future be viewed as a son, or as a dad, or as a human, not as political "leverage".

Sorry for your situation, and that of your colleagues.
Should never have happened.
Should not happen again.
There needs to be political accountability.

The reality is, federal workers will continue to vote Democrat, and will continue to serve as Democrat leverage fodder.

Abolish the IRS and income taxes and end social security and they won’t have to be.

Your move .

You NE Ivy League Frick's think you are smarter than southern hicks, but can't grasp the concept of having a nest egg.

You are too comfy in your govt job if you don't think it's needed. Especially when it happens every few years. Stop whining as if your savings won't get back filled eventually. Private sector people don't have the luxury of having that confidence.

Apply that to the rest of us. If your government job is not essential, then why tf do you have a job? I'd love a paid extra vacation like these freaks are getting but I guess I'm essential. Why can't they be essential? No one ever asks that.

A federal worker huh?

No wonder you are so far left in your views.

Then again, authoritarianism needs foot soldiers.

I bet that you miss Biden.
