They likely knew they were dead weight.
I have a couple of friends who work for FEMA here in BR, doing damage assessments (in the old Godchaux's building). According to them, the way IT support works is:
1. (using a keyboard with dead keys as an example)
-Fill out a help ticket (using someone else's computer, if necessary)
-Ticket goes to Langley, VA where it can sit for up to a week
-Ticket is sent back to the BR office where it can sit for up to a week
-Tech gets ticket, works ticket.
OR...
2. They just bribe their favorite IT person with candy, donuts, etc. and they swap the keyboard out right then and there.
Any IT people jumping ship from the federal government right now are likely those who promote and demand option 1 be the only way things are done.

Like grannie use to say... a good purging is beneficial.

They just did Elon's work for him. These people aren't too bright and since they resigned, any future litigation will not benefit them. Maybe they have huge job offers on the outside but this seems really stupid.

The mass resignation of engineers, data scientists and product managers is a temporary setback for Musk
How?
Musk brought in a couple of teenagers who were able to identify hundred of billions in waste, errors, etc... I'd be these 20 have dozens of years of experience and got schooled by a bunch of teenagers.

I assume you meant no severance? Because quitting wouldn't affect their ability to collect a pension if they are vested.

Depends on who those 20 people are.

Supposedly they were hired to work on Obamacare websites and were integrated into DOGE

I seem to remember that being a hot mess, maybe it is better they have left.

So what's the over/under on when they will all be on CNN at once? 1 day?

And there are 700 trying to land their spots
I LOVE natural selection.
Can't wait for their next interview when asked about company loyalty. "Yeah we'll do whatever, unless WE decide differently. When can we start"

LOL! They really stuck it to Musk by quitting instead of making him fire them!
That's awesome. This is one of the better examples of how virtue signaling will backfire gloriously.

21 people.
I’m sure they don’t have a job (from some liberal company) already lined up.
Yeah.

The sense of entitlement by gubmint employees is astounding. You know they are scared to get out in the real world and show responsibility for their work/efforts is scaring the shite out of them. Proves how worthless they all are.

Wait, wut?
This reads as though they were employed by DOGE. Why would someone agree to work for DOGE- knowing its purpose- then quit? This is misreported, or bullshite, or a pathetic attempt at performance art.
DOGE existed before. It was called USDS.
quote:
The staffers who resigned worked for what was once known as the United States Digital Service, an office established during President Barack Obama’s administration after the botched rollout of Healthcare.gov, the web portal that millions of Americans use to sign up for insurance plans through the Democrat’s signature health care law.
Ive posted many times about this group of unelected officials.
Unelected people who had access to millions of americans health info.

He's trying to thin the federal employee numbers and they think resigning is fighting back. Leftist logic.

The employees also warned that many of those enlisted by Musk to help him slash the size of the federal government under President Donald Trump’s administration were political ideologues who did not have the necessary skills or experience for the task ahead of them.
Wait, are you telling me grandson of KGB agent Big Balls is unqualified? Surely you jest. It’s not like he was fired as an intern for leaking company info to a competitor. Oh wait…
