This is the most hilarious part:
"We promise to do our job no matter who is POTUS. Unless it's a POTUS who wants to stop wasting taxpayer money. Then we're out."
quote:
"We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,” the 21 staffers wrote in a joint resignation letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. “However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”

So they were OK helping Biden with his invasion of the country by criminals from other countries, but helping Trump reduce waste, fraud and abuse is a bridge too far.
Good riddance to obviously partisan assholes.
Anyone wanna bet most of them are part of the alphabet brigade?

quote:That's not how pensions work.
They quit, no pension.
If those workers have been employed long enough to be vested in their pension plan (usually between 5 and 10 years), they will be eligible to receive pension benefits at whatever the retirement age is in their plan.

CLIFFS: more than 20 civil service employees resigned Tuesday because they no answer to Musk's question of what they had accomplished in the last 5 days.

Wait, wut?
This reads as though they were employed by DOGE. Why would someone agree to work for DOGE- knowing its purpose- then quit? This is misreported, or bullshite, or a pathetic attempt at performance art.

They aren't special. Elon can replace them by tomorrow.
Posted on 2/25/25 at 11:30 am to Bjorn Cyborg
They didn't bother to name one public critical service being cut that caused them to resign. Bye!!!!
Posted on 2/25/25 at 11:31 am to Bjorn Cyborg
Probably thousands waiting on a phone call for that job.
Bye.
Bye.

Yeah, pretty sure ‘shooting rubber bands at each other over cubicle partitions’ isn’t a sufficient answer.

By resigning, in most cases, you lose out on a severance package and on unemployment....
Posted on 2/25/25 at 11:34 am to Bjorn Cyborg
Do they still think resigning with a sob story is gonna stop anything?
We heard all this same shite before, no one gives a frick about your federal job. You arent protected there, you’re not some part of a higher caste… there is no bleeding edge capability that these 20 have that the tech nerds elon brought dont have.
AT BEST, the only edge these ppl could possibly have is COBOL knowledge… no one knows that shite anymore because its antiquated. Frankly, the US government itself doesn’t have the skills and technology necessary for its task ahead.
GUT ALL OF IT

They call this winning. Anyone who doesn’t want to work with and support the administration needs to go.

This was not an organic response event

If DOGE has 40 employees this is concerning. If they have 300 I'm not concerned. But regardless they have to cut costs and there is no question that it must be done.
