No we want a real free market that all ISPs can enter into
ISPs have always had local monopolies.

Huntsville is doing something similar with the dark fiber from the local utility company Huntsville Utilities, but partnering with Google to run from Huntsville Utilities' lines to the home.
Comcast is NOT happy
Well this just can't be. I have it on good authority that Comcast has impossible barriers to competition and they can behave in any manner they want without worrying about them.

Most Americans have access to more than one carrier

Well to be fair it's Huntsville. If the local city government tried any protectionist crap when it came to internet access there'd be a riot from one of the largest concentration of ubergeeks in the country.

So, before NN you didn't have that???
This has been explained to you and many others. So I suspect like my last response you will ignore it and keep repeating the same talking points.
Natural monopoly and consolidation exploitation started to rear its ugly head in the 2010's. When ISP's began to recognize and begin to exercise the extortionary power of their natural monopoly arrangement, near market exclusivity in many regions, and gatekeeper status to further buffer profits at the expense of consumers and internet dependent businesses. I.E. Rent-Seeking. Like Verizon throttling Netflix, Comcast extorting companies to not throttle their traffic, and the laundry list of things a poster laid out a few pages ago. This was in addition to other measures that are still in play today because of these forces like data caps. They have spent millions since NN to re-acquire the ability to turn off their default network settings and throttle and create fast lanes for monetary purposes and rent-seeking.
The argument you present is a false choice. The choice is not between what we have today and what we had in 2006 or even 2014 in terms of ISP behavior and market make-up or consumer reliance, it is between the current arrangement and going back to the period where that extortionary creep was accelerating, except under current consumer needs. Thus raising the stakes.
If you think the best course of action is to give those trustworthy ISP's the ability to start back with their creeping behavior and hope for the best, feel free to make the case. But please, drop this lazy begging the question nonsense because you are either too scared or unable to make a more fleshed out argument.

I have access to two high speed carriers as well as all of the wireless carriers. It's actually a fair bet that in some months the bulk of my data usage is Wireless.
And as was pointed out a minute ago Huntsville is getting another provider soon. Then I will have three high speed providers plus all of the wireless. And that will all be before the year 2020
Yet even knowing that I would bet my house that in 2030 I will look back on 2020 and laugh

Same here. In fact my mobile is better than my wireless much of the time.
We've got three carriers for broadband here. New local just jumped in

And when that happens I'll probably be using 2017 in hindsight as an example.
And he'll tell me but this time is different! You are just too old and don't know!

The days of people buying bulk tv cable is shrinking.
And now companies are adapting to the new market conditions, just like THEY always have.

People like you will keep propping up the tv providers.

Netflix throttled Netflix.
In some instances, yes, earlier on in Netflix's life cycle before their business model shifted. The reverse also absolutely happened.

Heck, Verizon even tried to throttle Youtube and Netflix again recently. Thanks to NN they will pay a price and be forced to stop, but sure, lets trust Pai that they aren't really interested in exploiting this ability. they just really, really want it back for altruistic consumer purposes.

no doubt.
I think it would have been funny for the FCC to have banned porn under the regulations while the existed
Regulation is a heavy, broad blade sword. It can make you feel like your interests are protected while slicing your hands off at the same time.

So what benefit are we going to see from rolling back net neutrality?

It amazes me how few people understand the underlying technology behind all of this, but are damned certain they're going to scream as loud as they can about it.
Like going into a hospital trying to tell surgeons how to do their jobs because you watched Grey's Anatomy.

Not have it regulated by 1935 legislation
What did you do before? You know since NN hasonly been law since 2015
