messaging Android to Android or iPhone to iPhone is secure, messaging from one to the other is not.

I don't text secret information so I'm not worried.

Must mean the FBI has the backdoor to those other apps

I don’t hang out with people that use Android phones. Those people are usually on the low end of the totem pole as far as society goes

If they are recommending certain apps, that means they have backdoors into those apps.

The Europeans were arresting the CEOs of companies who didn’t play ball so that’s a safe bet for basically every platform.

I worked for a Japanese manufacturer. Everything on my phone was encrypted with a set of background VPN and encryption. They were very cautious due to Chinese constantly trying to steal technical data and business planning.

They only mentioned Signal and WhatsApp. They did not mention Telegram.

Hmm. Sounds to me like the building of a foundation upon which to claim that cellular providers should all be controlled by the government "for our safety and national security".
That's the vibe I get. I can't be the only one.

Hey if they want to read texts of me telling my kids to get their shite together, or drunk threads about Auburn football, or my wife asking what is for dinner...be my guest!

Unless they are worried about what strains of weed me and a couple of buddies get from dispensaries they wont have much to see on my text.

You should let the police search your house daily, listen to your phone calls, and monitor you 24/7 voluntarily.
Since you have nothing to hide.
