Cohen is a legal fixer with a reported total of 10 legal clients.
Three. He admits that seven of those on his roster came to him for "business consultation," not legal advice.

Well, now anything that Cohen has from Hannity is non-privileged.

Because he was accused of something and paid hush money to make it go away.
Doesn’t mean he actually DID anything. He just didn’t want his name getting slimed in the wake of the stuff that got O’Reilly canned.

This lawyer has three clients.
One paid off a porn star who claimed he had sex with her.
One paid $1.6 million to a Playboy bunny he impregnated.
The third is Sean Hannity.
Our minds will tend to fill in the blanks.

I have to think Cohen recorded a call with Hannity that he wanted to make sure never gets out.
I can't believe they didn't tell Hannity this was coming! Seriously, they knew all weekend they were going to have to disclose this.

trump is alleged to call hannity. And he has had multiple dinners with him. I don't see why he would need to be an intermediary unless something fishy was going on and trump wanted to stay clear of it.

quote:Cool. It's all moot.
Criminal defendants do not pay for the public defender but the privilege exist. Also, no client of Legal Services will receive an invoice but are a client and are protected by the privilege.

Michael Cohen has never represented me in any matter.
Weird that Cohen calls him a client, though

Sean may have just made a very serious mistake.

Or, Cohen actually only has TWO clients

Or... Cohen is really terrible at math.

True. But if Cohen has a recording of Hannity, Hannity may wish he had jumped the other way on this one.

According to the judge of the polirant, if I have a conversation with a lawyer but do not decide to retain him, our conversation is not privileged any more. Is that what you think?
I do not trust the justice system as it was, let alone trust any one in the future if that is the case.

No.
You have a conversation with lawyer.
Lawyer asserts privilege FOR you.
You declare "he was never my lawyer."
Your conversation is not privileged. See?
ETA: I am not a judge IRL.

NO I don't see.
You can't CLAIM attorney-client privilege while at the same time CLAIMING that you did not have an attorney.

Cliff notes anyone?
Cliffhanger on who mystery third client was.
Judge made Cohen tell.
It was Sean Hannity.
Except Hannity says he was not a client.
