Anything taken on these raids is gonna face some serious scrutiny re admissibility if anything from it ever goes criminal.

Even if the sealed affidavit is solid, there will still be questions to be answered regarding what was taken.

The raids were either a swing for the fences or the new norm we should just get used to.

I still feel like people don’t get how crazy the raids were.

We ALL lose when they use this kind of third world tactics. Way out of bounds of client/attorney. They sure didn't send in the storm troopers when Hilary was under investigation. Her lawyers had plenty of time to go through her documents and decide which ones they would get and which ones they would destroy.

Sad the lengths they will go to try and destroy Trump and anyone close to him.

1000% regardless of whether you like Cohen or not. The dangerous road this leads to is unending and a dangerously slippery slope.

Its for the leaks that will drip for the next few years so Juice and ilk can post about them.

Trump needs to tweet that he's asking the DOJ to consider raiding Hillary's lawyer's offices due to the (insert any number of allegations).

Just to watch the about face.

I am firmly in the trump sucks camp, but I agree. This search should be challenged if charges arise due to it. I suspect the feds did this by the book though. This case has so much scrutiny that one would think that Robert Khuzami made it airtight.

It will still be challenged though.

Well, Cohen had ten clients.

Cohen said that he was only a business consultant, not a lawyer, for seven of them.

Can you do that math for me?

Avenatti is a very good lawyer.

He has beat(settled) Trump before. Trump hates losing and Avenatti probably pisses him off more than Stormy.

Based on what?

If someone instructed Cohen to pay off Stormy for the campaign, that is not privileged. The communication furthers the crime.

If Cohen communicated back about how to cover up the illegal contribution, I’m pretty sure that isn’t privileged either.

Rule 1.6 is pretty clear IIRC.

The only Red meat I see in here is YOU.

quote:

(2) to prevent the client from committing a crime or fraud that is reasonably certain to result in substantial injury to the financial interests or property of another and in furtherance of which the client has used or is using the lawyer's services;

This the part you concern yourself with. It still shows the lawyer as a protector not an active participant in some criminal activity yet to be determined by undermining the very essence of this rule that has been on full display by our Dictatorial Justice Department.
