Actually, it is up to the party claiming the privilege, to prove that it applies. If Cohen says that he has business and legal clients, it is up to him to establish that the documents which he claims as privileged apply to a client who qualifies for the attorney-client privilege.

There is a lot of (dis)information going around that claims that the execution of the subpoena and the collection of the documents was a clearly outside legal protocol.
However, Trey Gowdy has commented on more than one occasion that the Cohen subpoena was properly executed. Gowdy certainly should know.
