He legit just said he never represented him in any legal matter! How do NONE of these idiots have ANY idea what attorney client privilege is?!

So, if you do a free consult with an attorney, end up not hiring or paying said attorney, it means what you discussed isn't privelaged?

Nobody is saying that. And we are not talking about law. But here is what we know.
This lawyer has three clients.
One paid off a porn star who claimed he had sex with her.
One paid $1.6 million to a Playboy bunny he impregnated.
The third is Sean Hannity.
Our minds will tend to fill in the blanks.

I don't have a dog in this fight. I do not like Sean Vannity.
But, can I not just get legal advice and have AC privilege?
Seems I can ask an attorney for legal opinion of a thing...never do the thing...never have the attorney "handle any legal matter" and yet, my conversation (seeking the advice) would remain a matter of privilege.
I am truly asking.

The question is whether you were acting as an attorney. I think you can create the attorney-client relationship without paying anything. So I think Hannity's discussions with Cohen would be privileged.
I do NOT think that Hannity's identity was privileged.

I think the content of your communications would be privileged unless it was part of an ongoing crime or fraudulent scheme.
I think that fact that you had the conversations is not privileged.

Yes, per Cohen's attorneys. He had three clients in 2017.

The existence of an attorney - client relationship isn't completely formed by money. Quit thinking TV is real life.

That is what his lawyer told the court in a letter.

wow. That is interesting. I see the curiosity, now. I don't LIKE it. But, I get it

Why even name Hannity as a client if you never did anything with him on the record? It's just weird

Do we know who the other one is?
I mean, the 2 I know are both blowhard....vane....loudmouths (relax Trump fans...I support him)
I wonder if the third is equally comported.

Well Cohen wants to claim privilege on those communications.
My WAG is that the gov't seized a recording of a call between Hannity and Cohen that makes trump look really bad.

I actually agree. However, Cohen said in court today:
quote:
Cohen had told federal judge Kimba Wood that his client wanted his name concealed to avoid 'embarrassment' or 'harm'
If he's innocent, why should he be embarrassed of having Cohen represent him?

Elliot Broidy. RND Finance Chair who paid for the silence of a playmate who he got pregnant and then had to pay for an abortion.

President Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen arranged a $1.6 million non-disclosure agreement between a prominent GOP donor who is close pals with the commander-in-chief and a former Playboy model he impregnated, a new report said Friday.
The payoff Cohen arranged was for Elliott Broidy, a deputy finance chairman of the Republican National Committee, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.
Broidy, an LA-based venture capitalist, works on the RNC’s fundraising efforts with Cohen, a national deputy finance chairman.
