What's really crazy? What Fauci is saying here is that black people can't take care of themselves. He's saying that white people are responsible for black people's diet, fitness routines, lifestyles, etc. According to Fauci, if i have Type II Diabetes, it's my fault. But if a black person has Type II Diabetes, it's also my fault.
If I were a black person, I'd be infuriated by Fauci's implications that white people are responsible for my health and well-being. But I guess most black people don't see it that way.

He actually said the more a particular demographic worked in nonisolatable environments (e.g., meat packing plants, auto assembly lines, etc), the greater their risk. That is true. Then he said comorbidities (HTN, COPD, CRF, obesity) are associated with poverty, and therefore are associated with impoverished Blacks. Those comorbidities increase risk of poor CV19 outcome.
The f/u question related to whether racism was responsible for the economic plight of Blacks who are impoverished. Fauci mistakenly opined without fact (and outside of his area expertise) that it was.
