When the movie first dropped it was at a 1.6/10. I was surprised the tech overlords would allow this to happen to one of their heroes.

However, all was right with the universe when I saw it is now up to 5.8/10 with an "alternative rating calculation" to "preserve the reliability" of the rating system. I am not sure how you get anywhere near 5.8 from this distribution, but I guess I will just trust the science on this one.

They know there can't be 8100 0 star votes because there's no way that many people have watched it.

Even more hilarious, in a world with nearly 6 billion people who have potential access to it, 400 people have bothered to watch and give a positive review.

This whole "weighted" polling got me to thinking.

Where else might this have been used a little more um.. secretly?

You nailed it.

If they'll cheat to win an IMDB poll with nothing at stake...

WTF is National Geographic creating a documentary on some scientist? I watched the preview and he seemed like a bigger idiot than I would have imagined.

Yeah, when I was a kid, National Geographic was the gateway to porn and what my parents waved in my face to guilt trip me about not eating all my brussel sprouts.

I'm told they found 80,000 mail in ballots in Fulton County.

I hope they're dropping the top and the bottom scores.

In the same way no one really watched it and gave it a 1*, almost nothing on IMDb is 10*.

95% of IMDb is between 6.8 and 7.4

All of them apparently loved the show, too.

I sure did love those flat African boobies. Don't forget the Sears catalog, too. Good times.

I’m just happy he said we should be able to bring our kids trick or treating this year. It makes me feel good about it and not so worried.

Giving more weight to people that regularly post reviews and less to people that signed up just to trash the movie.

Suppose you could test the theory and vote to see if it actually records your 1* vote

They always accuse us of using bots - which means they all use bots. Their accusations are actually confessions.
