And what happens when one of Irans proxies bombs it and kills our troops?

Irans proxies? Israel will drop it into the sea once it's finished.

They will say it's being used to resupply Hamas and say adios to dock.

IF Biden is actually the Dem candidate, he will lose because he's an exposed, anti-American, crooked, lying, brain dead idiot.
He's a terrible candidate, which is why he won't be the Dem candidate in '24.

I'm saying it won't be because he's senile/old/a bad speaker/a bad person. He might be those things, but that's not why he'll lose.

I also don't think he's really anymore anti-American, crooked, etc. than the average high profile Democrat.

But I do think he's legitimately stuck between a rock (the American people and normal sentiments) and a hard place (the increasingly radical factions that are bludgeoning what's left of the center left into submission). He's having to toe and impossible line.

No, Israel likes Trump a LOT more than they like Biden.

And Biden gets his wet dream of a war to help support his re-election bid. I think it will backfire as many voters will hold those deaths against him for sending US troops there in the first place.

We are literally helping both sides. My history is fuzzy—did we build piers and drop aid packages for the Japanese and Germans in WWII?

Ultimately if Biden loses it's probably not because he's that bad of a candidate

Ummm, I 10000000% disagree.

The same thing Reagan did after Iranian proxies killed 241 Marines in Beirut:

We invade Grenada.

I don't think those two were related.

Let's face it, Biden and his administration couldn’t care less about the American people.

I agree with the sentiment, but this isn't a problem government can fix.

Yes, in fact we spend several decades financing and rebuilding both countries.

Yes, they were.

Reagan needed imagery on TV of Marines hitting the beaches to replace the images of Marines returning home in flag draped coffins. Think about it, the press was already on the beach to get the video as the Marines were landing. It was obviously staged.

Reagan was all about imagery and appearances. I remember reading a paper on Reagan's use of imagery during his presidency, it was fascinating. One common approach was to have the images presented to be in direct opposition to the message in the voice over. Polls showed that people remembered the images, but forgot the narrative. One famous example was when he proposed to cut spending for Medicare, but the commercial talking about it showed an elderly care hospital ribbon cutting ceremony. People remembered the image of a hospital opening, but didn't remember the narrative about the cuts.

It's all about the imagery, and Reagan knew it.

They are not good with this. But, I suspect that this move while a shite sandwich might be the least shitty of shite sandwiches. Having thousands of Palestinians starve is not good for Israel in terms of relations with its neighbors and with boots on the beach Israel is somewhat slowed and it could stop a humanitarian swell into Egypt which no one wants.

Have they opposed it? They seem to have accepted the maritime corridor that the EU has set up out of Cyprus.

Hamas brought this onto themselves.

Once they are exterminated things can develop into something more normal.
