What we want is for McDonalds to say they had a record day of revenue on the 24th. We want stupid boycotts like these to completely backfire. We want to show the Woke that their boycotts indeed ‘do shite.’
Good point.

That’ll be the one day of the year I will eat McDonald’s.
JK.
I remember when chick fil a was a target of Lefty lunacy & the lines got even longer at the drive through.

The same ole adage about workers treated to low paying jobs to keep them fed.
Is this McDonald's?
Is this McDonald's?

I try to avoid ordering food from minimum wage workers who glare at me like I’m the devil, while taking my order.
Hard pass.
Hard pass.

i don't know how you even found this article to start a thread. that isn't a criticism, but my god first of all newsweek is defunct for all intent a purposes it's hanging on by a very thin thread. this wasn't an article it was an advertisement for the peoples union USA. whose mailing address is 4806 patty lane, ringwood illinois. population 855 people about 65 miles north of chicago.
here's a little bit more about the founder of the peoples union!
My name is John Schwarz, but most people call me J or online, TheOneCalledJai.
I’m the founder of The People’s Union USA.
I’m not a politician, and I’m not some corporate-backed activist. I’m just a man who’s lived through enough, seen the truth with my own eyes, and decided to do something about it.
I was born in Flushing, Queens, New York in 1968, raised in the Pomonok projects. Life was rough right out of the gate. My home wasn’t peaceful , it was abusive and unstable. My parents divorced when I was still a kid. By 13, I was working to survive, not for dreams or goals, just to eat and get some kind of control over my life.
Through my teens, I hustled in delis, office jobs, whatever I could find. Eventually, I was running businesses in New York City, working in management, and playing music professionally. I made a name for myself as a drummer, and for years, that was my life.
At 26, I left New York and moved up to New England. My firstborn son was born shortly after, and from that day forward, he’s been the air I breathe. Those early years weren’t easy. I made decisions that came with consequences. I took full responsibility, proved myself, grew from it, and never looked back.
Over time, I kept building. I ran more businesses, helped others do the same, and eventually became a professional drum instructor for Drumeo — the world’s largest online drum school.
until this very moment i didn't know you could learn to play the drums "on the line"
by the way the author of the article is based in the UK

Never heard a single word about the RESULTS of the previous boycotts. Insignificant would probably be the term to describe them as a result.
Besides that, what entity would take the place of the boycotted businesses if they were able to shut them down? More wasted urban space to decay, loss of jobs, higher prices… sounds like a really bad idea.

Big Breakfast without pancakes is only $5.50

quote:I did this too using the multigrain wheat English muffin. I even bought the little egg rings you make the egg to fit. Pre-pattied sausage and a slice of cheese. good as there's. I do like McD's hash browns though. Had one on the way back from the beach Tuesday with the breakfast burrito. That's not bad . Breakfast is about the only thing I have any taste for at McDs. Coffee is usually pretty good.
My husband mastered McMuffin breakfast sammies... and I have a coffee maker, lol. Only used to get the breakfasts when the kids visited.

I hadn't eaten McDonalds in forever, but I had to take my car to the dealership the other morning for service and there was a Mcdonalds next door. I walked over to get a breakfast something and coffee. All the customers were in the drive thru, the inside was empty. I ordered on a screen and the food quietly appeared on a counter as I was checking my phone. Zero human interaction the entire time I was inside.
I am all for workers having certain rights and safe working conditions. But if I were a collective organization looking out for the interests of these people, I would advise them all to find other employment. You can't force an entity to respect workers, if it doesn't need workers. One of the boycott requests is a $15/p hour minimum wage for cashiers. But I didn't see any cashiers. Who are they fighting for? And very soon half the kitchen work will be replaced by robots too. It almost already is - have you seen how a big mac is made? They press like 30 frozen burger patties in under a minute and the assembly is mechanical. The only jobs that will exist by 2030 will be managing robots and that same person can also work the drive thru, a job for which Mcdonalds will gladly pay $15+.
Plus - It's McDonalds. They are not unionized. This boycott is organized by an unaffiliated, self-claimed leftist group with a capitalist agenda. They would have no voice without the McDonalds sponsored news outlets talking about them. And Leftists who care about this stuff don't eat McDonalds, so who is doing the boycotting? A real Marxist Leninist leftist organization would have ordered the proletariat to burn every franchise to the ground and revolt against the industrialized food giant - not boycott for labor conditions equitable to those in a Josh Hawley bill.
This all seems like a puppet show. McDonald will do more business this week than they have in months. Trump might give them a free commercial. And in the end, they will look like good guys to labor unions for agreeing to a set of terms which they were already going to implement.
Bravo McDonalds.

Ok, I’ll go to McD’s and spend money, but

I hadn't eaten McDonalds in years before a few months ago and got their cheap as hell little double cheeseburgers
drove by the iconic University and Markham McDonalds a few days ago in Little Rock - we ate there after great Razorback wins at War Memorial Stadium when I was little
pulled through Morrilton yesterday on the way home and got two more little double cheese and a Coke - could have done high quality David's Burgers or CJ's Butcher Boy instead, but when I travel nowdays, I can't overdo or I'll feel like I'm giving birth to triplets
hell the two little baby burgers almost killed me, but they were good and I survived
