There are some Canadian politicians pushing for legal euthanasia to rid their country of mentally ill citizens.

Is this something that you would support if our highly intellectual politicians in D.C. chose to pursue?
And if so, why?

I am generally for it is cases of elderly and suffering terminally ill people.

not in this case and I have a hard time believing there are Canadians even suggesting this.

I would be fine with it in some cases. For example, once someone with Alzheimer's gets to an advanced enough stage.

Right, but not to mentally ill like you suggest.

Euthanasia or assisted suicide?

Euthanasia is a slippery slope. If you've ever seen a terminally ill patient you know it's heartbreaking to see them suffer. The best we can do is make them as comfortable as possible while their body shuts down. I would be hard pressed to disagree with humanely allowing them to end their own life.

However, there are people out there dealing with treatable problems that shouldn't be given up on. Many of the issues people view as hopeless are products of modern living. I'm not willing to sweep all mental illness under the same rug. That creates too broad a standard and one that some people will take advantage of.

Killing the “unproductive” is a necessary evil of socialist systems.

Who decides when a person is mentally ill?

I think there are a lot of people overmedicated in this country. And there are primary care doctors writing prescriptions for things they really have no business writing. Just follow the algorithm, and presto, diagnosis complete.

We really are doing a disservice to our population, labeling anyone that cries in a doctors office as, clinically depressed.

I’ve seen well meaning relatives make their loved one suffer for months, and put their dog down out of compassion.

Euthanasia is evil.

And why is suffering bad? Don't we redeem ourselves through suffering?

To be fair, these mentally ill f*cks did elect this pure piece of f*cking FILTH to be the Prime Minister. Therefore, it seems that at least half the country is mentally f*cking ill and should be euthanized.

Well, call me gullible...but I know what I heard & what I read. Take the time to read the link and tell me if you think Canada's law regarding euthanasia is extreme.
