If the USSS doesn’t have a “first shot” policy for an unknown with a rifle on an adjacent roof 150 yds from a Presidential candidate then we have bigger problems than just “after shot” execution.

Where did the 488 yard shot come from? I haven’t seen that yet?
Same. Where is this coming from?

Love that.
Love that.

It would be absurd to have a sniper at 488 yards but not have LEO standing on any building within that distance, lol. I’m not saying it’s not true, but WTF SS

Are we sure he didn't mean 488 feet (166 yards)? No one was shooting from 488 yards.

I tend to be of the opinion the the SS was, rather than malevolent in their duties, simply assumed that nobody would try to assassinate Trump and simply was derelict in their duties of pre assessing the conditions and the location. In other words, they simply were incompetent and didn't know what in the heck they were doing.
But I bet they ensure that all proper pronouns are used, that an appropriate cross section of society is represented at all levels of the SS and that they make using a weapon the absolute last option available for any all scenarios. You know, the truly important stuff.
But malevolence could still be the factor as well. "It's Trump... maybe something WILL happen to him. Let's not try too hard to prevent it."

FWIW
I’ve seen a pic circulating of an Asian guy/ sniper. I’m on my phone so can’t tell if the same guy in this photo, but i think it might be. The one I’ve seen circulating is from another angle/shows his face better.
Has anyone else seen this? He’s got the same hat on

What saved Trump was him turning his head to the right just before the guy started shooting. Otherwise, that bullet would have gone through one side and out the other.

I know Prince knows his shite, but is there really that much wind drift on a 55 grain .223 or 5.56 bullet at less than 150 yards and 5 mph wind?
Does anyone know what direction the wind was from?
It would have to have been a west wind for the bullet to drift left as the shooter was firing from north to south according to maps and diagrams.

quote:The two on the barn everybody is focused on didn't do the kill shot. The kill shot came from a 3rd (as in not the other barn's team) sniper team. Not sure where they were, but probably behind the crowd to the south.
Where did the 488 yard shot come from? I haven’t seen that yet?
I don't think that team is SS on the barn. FBI's HRT? PA staties? not sure.
quote:prevailing winds in PA are from the W... doesn't mean that was the case here though. I didn't see any thunderstorms or anything. That puts it pretty much behind the shooter.

I’m sorry, but if I’m being protected from assassination, I want pretty much all men on my detail.

highly doubt he was doing wind assessments.
No way he was… there is a shot prior to hitting Trump that attracts everyone’s attention, so he wasn’t close with first try.
After that I think he just closed his eyes and began firing before he was taken out.
It was pure luck Trump was hit

What does that SEAL know?
DisplacedBuckeye says the USSS acted like an elite force, taking down the would-be assassin within seconds of taking multiple shots at the likely next President of the US, in broad daylight, on a rooftop that should have been monitored.
I'll trust the expertise of DisplacedBuckeye.
Sorry Erik.

He’s someone who should be in charge of things important.

I’m not convinced the first shot was the ear shot. Either way, we are lucky this was a .223 semi auto vs a bolt long rifle.
He did flinch before he started lifting his hand to his ear. I think first shot was clean miss.

Erik Prince for Sec of Defense

Mr. Prince should offer his services to Trump. The SS shouldn't get a do over.
