Pretty sure Nazis didn't want the Jewish population owning guns either.
Also, the "meet him at the door" was at the door of his own home. I watched that segment, it was about if public schools are complete indoctrination systems (they already are) and if the government also outlaws private schools and homeschooling (lots of progs advocating this already), and they show up at his doorstep demanding his child, he meets them at the door with his guns.
