“I've been practicing Emergency Medicine on the Northshore for over 16 years. It has been a true privilege to serve my community. I've been very blessed to meet so many wonderful people, make many lifelong friends, and work with amazing staff & fellow physicians at Lakeview Regional Medical Center.
You have trusted me to suture your lacerations, call in the surgeon for your child's appendicitis, discuss TPA treatment option for your member family's stroke, treat your co-worker for heart attack & call in the cardiologist and Cath Lab team, start you on antibiotics for your infection, and discuss end of life issues with you & your loved one. I spent 4 years in medical school, trained 4 years in EM residency, and have read hundreds of thousands of medical literature to earn this trust and privilege.
PLEASE trust me again when I tell you that you need to get vaccinated for Covid.“

From an MD with a masters. I know you aren’t interested, but for others that may be
“These vaccines have been studied more extensively before mass use than any vaccine in history. EVER. PERIOD.
Firstly, prior tech/data on mRNA vaccines has been out since the mid 90s and was heavily researched during SARS outbreak in early 2000s when trying to develop a vaccine. But then SARS faded and such research got somewhat shelved. Thus basically this vaccine has been around for ~20 years, and we are super lucky that COVID and SARS viruses are similar enough that much of the groundwork for these vaccines was already completed prior to COVID.
Secondly, we also know that reactions to any vaccines after 8 weeks have been so rare they are basically nonexistent in the history of all vaccines with each one created in history being better than the last, since we learn more each time..
AND ... We also know how long mRNA/proteins can stay in body from prior work with mRNA cancer therapy!!! #pleaseaskmeaboutit
If you got food poisoning today and I told you it was from a meal that you ate 6 months ago ... you would know that that’s not true and you would know why. We know how long these things can happen based on prior use of vaccines and mRNA. You have to determine the length of time needed to follow something before you start dumping money into researching it.
Some questions - What even makes some people pick 5 years of follow-up, and not 10 or 20 years? Benadryl was invented in the 1940s, how can we be using it like we do if we don’t know if it gives you a brain tumor when you turn 90?
This is why we look at how long something needs to be followed before we waste money on trying to invent and/or research it. Would be wasteful to research at all something to fight a disease that could kill us all in a few years if we needed 5-10 years to know it is safe.
It is insanely unlikely and would be unexplained to have a downstream reaction more than 3 to 4 months after one of these vaccinations. And that is just a fact.
You are not avoiding benadryl since it hasn’t been studied for 100 years yet are you? Advil came out in the 60’s. Avoiding advil because it could still give every teenager who took it in the 60’s terminal cancer when they turn 75?!?
Love,
A concerned MD w/ a masters in public health epidemiology“
