England lifts ban on fracking
Posted by Powerman on 9/22/22 at 9:32 am342
You wouldn't think it would take this long for western nations to take action on things like this
LINK /
And the bolded part is why they shouldn't have banned it in the first place

"Lifting the moratorium will help the shale industry unlock UK onshore natural gas in quantities sufficient to meet the UK’s needs for decades to come," ?Cuadrilla CEO Francis Egan said.
Chemicals and energy giant INEOS, which holds several British shale gas exploration licences, said the government should treat shale gas development as "a national infrastructure priority."
Experts say restarting the industry will do nothing to ease energy prices this winter, however, since it would take many years for an industry to develop and it remains unclear whether a significant amount of gas could be extracted

So, they no longer give a frack?

It's amazing you 2 regressives have suddenly shifted course on fracking, yet you voted for the very potato who halted significant natural gas exploration/production.
In short, GFY. No one cares about your opinions.
I've always been pro fracking and never voted for Biden
Go back to sleep

so the abject destruction of planet earth and the end of humanity as we know it ceases to become important at around €0.20 per kWh?

I don't claim to know what their price tolerance is
I think the fear is not having it at all

When the calculation is certain, global destruction or some electricity - the most climate-progressive Western governments choose "some electricity". Got it.

I highly doubt Cwill has ever opposed fracking.
I don't understand why environmentalists don't like fracking. At a lunch and learn a long time ago a geologists was giving us a little talk about the exploration in the Permian Basin and he talked about fracking. He said that with horizontal fracking one downhole well can extract the same volume as 40 conventional vertical wells. That is a far less surface footprints for fracking wells versus conventional wells. Environmentalists ought to be encouraging fracking just based on the lack of surface disturbance compared to conventional drilling.

A lot are breaking away from the UK & King Charles. Charles is too political. Barbados already broke away.
So I think they are appeasing those suffering in their economy trying to lower their electric bills for winter.

I heard this morning on the oil & gas weekly podcast I enjoy that King Charles is very anti-fossil fuel development.
Hopefully he keeps his trap shut and his political opinions to himself, like the former Queen did.
