I can relate. I was never much for left of center, but by holding the same views I had 10 years ago I am perceived as being much more conservative.

The image has Musk and the conservative in the same location in each frame.

Check out the face on Musk across the years.

Bill Clinton would probably be labeled a conservative if he ran on his same platform today.

On a personal level, I have gone from middle of the road, can see both sides to nazi/racist/fascist/skinhead but my personal views haven’t changed all that much. Seeing it on Twitter it’s funny how they are trying to say the right has become the extreme group while conveniently forgetting BLM and antifa are a thing.

Projection is a hallmark of the progressive left. If they are guilty of it, they say the other side is who is doing it.

Elon is socially liberal, fiscally conservative.

But he's not a woke, progressive, far-left nut.

JFK was to the right of GWB. WJC was to the right of DJT. Everything has shifted way left.

I only disagree on the timeline. I think the big shift left came 2016+. Had to run from OMB.

I think 2008 is a good starting point for the hard left asserting its dominance in the dem party. We got Obama with his fundamental changing of the country.

No. It started during Obama's second term. That's when they thought they got the mandate to fundamentally change the US. Think of all the shite they did during his second term. Gay marriage #1

And that gave us trump, their worse nightmare. And they are making the same mistake again but 20 fold. I don’t see how the Biden admin could see this past election and polling since he took office as a mandate to do anything.

This sums up a lot of people such as myself. I was/am very centered but the left has pulled so hard I'm well into the right.

Some viewpoints have changed due to acquiring more information on a subject, but overall I'm the same person.

/\ THIS /\

Those of us who read the tea leaves knew we were drifting to the left for 50 years, but I always had the firm idea that the 'pendulum' would swing back. By the end of the second Clinton term, I began to worry, and with the election of Obama in 08, I became paranoid.

The '16 election gave me a glimmer of hope - then came Covid and the lockdown, followed by the death blow = mass mail in ballots.

As soon as that was announced, I predicted exactly what would happen on 3 Nov.

Barrack Obama ran in 2008 with a “committed” position on marriage that would get him cancelled today.
