I could have used this image as the illustration as to why I left the Democrat party in 1989-90…I’ve always contended that true conservatives have a solid and proven foundation for their beliefs and there’s no need to progress to anything else.

That figure is not entirely accurate. The right has also shifted left, but not at a dead sprint, maybe a begrudging shuffle.

I like it. Go back to 1990 and Donald Trump falls on the "liberal" side of "center".

Seeing it on Twitter it’s funny how they are trying to say the right has become the extreme group while conveniently forgetting BLM and antifa are a thing.

Projection is a hallmark of the progressive left. If they are guilty of it, they say the other side is who is doing it.

It is hilarious how they try to prove the right has become fascist using fascist tactics.

Projection in it's most naked form.

The only thing I disagree with is insinuating the middle has moved. I guess it’s all in perspective but just because the left ran batshit crazy and swung out into left field, the center shouldn’t move left as well. That’s how the left has progressed through the years. Take a far left stance on an issue and then when conservatives “meet in the middle” it’s still skewed to the left.

Probably just semantics. And I’m reading too much into an illustration. Lol

In the meme, the middle hasn't moved. In the demented minds of the left, everyone else has moved right. They even have "science" to prove it.

Is it interesting because it's objectively wrong?

Or because he knows it's wrong, and is trolling the right?

See I used to be that left leaning person. The fact is none of my beliefs shifted, I was just left by the left.

That's not what happened. Ideologically the left has had much less drift, and the right is very very far right compared to 20-30 years ago.

Wow, glad you know my beliefs better then me. Pronouns, gay marriage, more government intervention, abortion used to be a thing of last resort and not ideal. I could go on forever. The right has stayed pretty consistent.

Even Reagan recognized the sprint to the left by the libs.

"I didn't leave the Democratic Party," he famously said. "The party left me."

I was a Democrat until around 1990….I’m not much different ideologically speaking today than I was then but now I’m considered a right wing radical because I believe there’s only two genders….so you’re just wrong….lol!

This sums up a lot of people such as myself. I was/am very centered but the left has pulled so hard I'm well into the right.

Same here. There was a time I was rather left and voted for democrats. Then the Left left me. I’ve gotten more conservative anyway as I got older but I’m also conservative out of a feeling of preservation for myself and my kids. The left hates everything especially white people so I’m anti left by default.

Lol
Perhaps on economic matters the left hasn’t changed much. Maybe just a little more communist than in the past. But how would we even know when the Left talks only about Covid, race, and alphabet people? And on social issues such as race, the Left is bonkers.

We had that here a while ago and I disagreed with it and re-edited it to closer to what I think reality has been.
