You TRIGGERED the WFH crowd. Those people are insufferable.

It doesn't
Hourly baws who chose to bind themselves to particular work settings are melting at the flexibilities other choices provide.

Incorrect, if you are on the clock running groceries and to the gym. I don't care if it's private or federal, it has to be eliminated
Another Trump "conservative."
Force private companies to lock up employees in the office. Lol.

Are we discussing work from home, or not?
You are describing normal employment, not WFH.
Yes, it's wrong to leave your work to do another job without permission from your boss.
That scenario has literally nothing to do with salaried people working from home.

So he just used equal outcomes to make his argument?

This thread is great to separate who’s hourly and who’s salary

I saw the OP say WFH should be made illegal.

I'm the owner, but I always permit my contractors to do most of their work from home or wherever. Certain things must be done in office (filing) but that can be done at random intervals. This has been SOP for approaching 8 years or so.
The concept of hourly employment is terrible for most professionals.

What about hybrid employees? Home 3 days and in the office 2?

He also isn't discussing work from home, as his example was a guy working from the office (hospital), who left to do a sideline.

Really has nothing to do with hourly or salaried. It has to do with leaving work while on the clock to go grocery shopping or to the gym. If you are salaried or hourly in the office you were not able to leave to do either. Now we have people doing both, that's why companies like Tesla and Amazon are making workers come back to the office. To many Fraudsters out there

We're all electric now. No place for hybrids here.

Yes I was. It's pretty normal to slip out and go to the gym mid day. Or if I needed to go shop for something real quick I would, this was more limited by lack of refrigeration.
Posted on 11/18/24 at 3:41 pm to John Barron
I'll never be back in the office, but people who are paid by taxpayer funding should be required to work from the office.

I work from home and have unlimited vacation. My company is cool with me working from anywhere in the world and encourages me to maximize my time off as long as my clients are happy.
I respect Elon and appreciate all he has done, but he can kindly frick off on this one as it pertains to the private sector.

It makes a huge difference for your argument.
If you are salaried and get your job done, the details become much less relevant.
If you are hourly, then you're bound to work the set number of hours.

It has to do with leaving work
So, again, not work from home.
