With gold 110X higher in value than it was in 1973, what does all of this mean?

I know this is hard for people to grasp but that net worth of his is only on paper. It’s essentially theoretical. It’s the valuation of his holdings, not his bank account balance.

350 million over decades vs. one man (and a brilliant supporting cast) in 50 years.

Not too bad on his/their part

Rough estimates of JP Morgan and JD Rockefeller converted into todays dollars, not even close. Values very some depending on dates and are estimates from historians.

JP Morgan about $50 Billion around 1901
JD Rockefeller about $32 Billion around 1913

Buying Disney and everything it owns to "dewokify" it would be a good thing.

I'd rather him focus his efforts on advancing technology projects instead of catering to your trivial cultural desires.

People really do think he has $500 billion laying around in his bank account.

Yes. There are many folks who think Elons wealth is actually keeping money out of their hands.

I remember a day when leftists were circle jerking over him paying 44 billion for Twitter.

Not sure why I am laughing. It all seems like Monopoly Money these days.

Lets just say you did have that much cash laying around.

If you wanted to run out in 50 years, you'd have to spend over $27M a day, every single day, for 50 years.

Which makes our national debt numbers that much more staggering.

Nobody would give Elon anything for his companies as they not looking to be sold but if Elon took Space X and 2 other companies public then that value would make him worth 2x more than his worth now

Private company ownership is considered in these rankings. His ownership of SpaceX is estimated to be worth $168 billion. It’s part of the $500 billion.

He needs to acquire CNN and turn it into a real news organization.

Maybe Disney.

Private ownership is generally held back in value hence the IPO’s that make a company skyrocket over night. That number you used of 168 billion would increase 6-10 fold easily. Look back at google IPO or any similar company and see where stock value went from the teens to the hundreds.

Edit to show ridiculous prices you claimed.
Space X recently bought back 350 billion of stock.
Between Space X , Starlink , and a number of others I believe indeed well over 1 trillion if he ipo’s

He isnt the first, just the first one that is publicly known. There are many people worth over a trillion that we dont know their names, dont know where they live and they are running the world
