You can't see the context of the original Musk tweet that Altman is quoting here, but he is talking about Altman saying he takes scamming to a whole new level.

Trump realized that if all fraud was suddenly stopped, the US economy would dive into a severe recession, maybe even a depression. It needs to be curbed slowly and methodically so as to not shock the system all at once. Half of US automakers would go bankrupt and the real-estate market would crumble. Stolen money gets spent and we have a consumer economy.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to make of all of that. Musk blames the fact that they moved away from non-profit structuring and that they abandoned their core mission, but I don't think it would have been possible for them to raise the money necessary to achieve AGI while structured as a non-profit, and I think they all know that, even Musk.
It seems he is salty mostly because he wasn't made CEO or allowed to merge the company with Tesla.
A little bit of sour grapes I think, but I still support Musk.

Altman had made clear that OpenAi planned to release a unique "device" this year. It is rumored to be an airpod sort of thing in which an "always on AI" would interface your environment with you, and feed you information and suggestions about it. Creepy on several levels. But Apple claims most, or all of the hardware design and tech was stolen. Apple's preliminary claims are detailed, pervasive, and potentially extremely damaging to TeamAltman.
OpenAI had hoped to beat Anthropic to the starting line with its AI IPO and in 2025, seemed on track to do that. Earlier this year, there was an odd change of course in that rhetoric and thinking. Suddenly, Altman inexplicably started de-emphasizing the IPO timing. The story now circulating is that the knowledge that Apple was onto the design and hardware "device" theft, and planned to go after OpenAI legally, caused a shift in plans ITR.
