Musk is a visionary, and like most visionaries he doesn't have the ability to grasp reality very well.

UHI on a societal scale isn't compatavle with human nature.

“all jobs will be optional”

They make jobs optional it’ll be very difficult to find someone who wants to work.

Look at the “work from home” peeps who were given a temporary reprieve from coming in. When they were told to come back in you’d think they were having fingernails removed one at a time with pliers,

Give people a big check to stay home, they’ll stay home. A Big Mac might cost $250, but they won’t care.

And if you don’t do what the govt tells you? They cut off your money.

The elites, Govt, and top doctors scientists already have luxury bunkers in a nuke war.

Even in this scenario the Marines were to be used to go get dogs deer to eat and protect the bunker as long as they lasted outside.

Now the bunkers are self sustainable with food, chocolate covered ants and crickets...

So peons will always be peons.

Just raid the retirement of all the rich boomers and give it to the generations they’ve been fricking over for decades? That could work too.

You sound jealous and completely uninformed. The boomers are rich because they bought a 1200 square foot older house and paid it off as quickly as they could while adding on and fixing it up. They had 1 or 2 old model cars and they didn't go out and buy $6 a cup lattes and $10 dollar egg cups that they could make at home for fraction.. But of course, you're too lazy to do that. They ate at home, very rarely went out to eat, went to spring break only as far as they could drive instead of on the french riviera. and lived a lifestyle where they could save money that grew over time in their 401k's.. they sacrificed their young present for their older future.
You guys, on the other hand, sit around and bitch and cry and moan and whine and spend money like drunken fricking sailors. Grow up and quit blaming your shitty circumstances on people who busted their arse and saved their money.
I'm sick of hearing this victim drivel from bunch of weak willed crybabies. If your life isn't the way you want it to be then do something different and change it. Go back to school, get a second or third job, or start your own business. Move to a much cheaper apartment....cook your own meals....do your own hair.....quit getting spray tans and your eyebrows done.... All us boomers did it and benefited from it and you can too.

You do realize that the actual point being made is that this is not quite possible anymore, right?

And before you go in another rant, this doesn't apply to me. I can scale up if I want to but almost knowing you me is going to be like me. And my future was severely negatively affected by many societal events that were outside of my control that are relatively unprecedented, while boomers were severely positively affected by many societal events that were outside of their control. The problem is that they refuse to acknowledge this and pretend that a lot of the stuff that was good luck was actually some sort of hard work that removes them from criticism.

And again, what Musk is actually saying here takes this line of thought out of the equation as the AI/robotics will create goods and services in absolute abundance. It isn't anything that the "elite" will need to concern themselves with because all needs will be met. And then some. And then a lot.

Oh, yes. I forgot that history tells us that powerful men make decisions always in the best interests of others.

This is also assuming a future where interplanetary travel is possible such that these abundant goods and services don’t deplete the planet of resources, right?

Amen my brother! The hate for boomers is uncanny. They need to pray they can be like WW2 vets. Or men working in the steele mills doing things these wussy assholes would cry for AC and breaks doing...

So you’re thinking AI and robots are going to grow food, repair bridges, fix your AC, build houses, fly airplanes, dispose of your trash, etc?

Think I saw this in a movie.

But you believe the nonsense, which makes you just as retarded and soft on the subject as those that cling to their victimhood fantasy.

You can't even frame the argument correctly.

Boomers have no problem acknowledging how fortunate they've had it. The disagreement is about how fortunate younger generations have had it. You've been sold utter bullshite by the Left. "Boomers stole our prosperity!" is the same game as climate change, but targeted differently.

You think the inflation rate under Biden was bad. This would crush that rate increase and never stop.

I don't like it but the Huron didn't like meeting the English either.
Elon is most likely seeing the future, better than most as usual of what is to come. The free range landscape of today(western cattle barons of old) concerning AI has already gone to far and there are no speed bumps on the horizon. Free marketer, free range and less government types are going to get steamrolled with the rest of us.
If we don't control/regulate AI it will diminish us all.
