Seems fair to me.

They've had a gravy train for a long time.

Losing about $580/day per employee.

That isn't sustainable.

Oppression: when a fascist runs a company and expects his subjects, aka workers, to put in 8 hour days and work hard for the salary that they receive

Elon = Oppressor

Shitcan half the workforce then expect the rest to pickup the workload. This has never been done in the history of corporate downsizing. *eye roll*

What he wants to happen: People work 80-100 hour weeks including weekends.

What will happen: Top performers will dust off resumes and have new jobs in a month. shite will get lost, new employees will have no tribal knowledge or support and it'll be a shitshow.

This seems like a real danger. I wonder if he's planning to purge most of the workforce and up the pay for those that stick around and do good work - that may keep them around.

If you can get the remaining half to put in a true 40 hour work week it would be fine.

One day in the life of a twitter employee

Tech industry going south, where it belongs....

They were grossly overstaffed to voice the LEFT narrative!

Those fired will not find jobs easily.

you are assuming Twitter had top performers. From what I can see it was less like a job and more like adult daycare. Also, when 90% of your employees are just there to censor free speech, what do you need them for if you want free speech on your platform. Ai/algorithms can easily identity stuff that's actually illegal, they needed all these people to smoke out wrong think

Is that video legit? I know it's in the twitter office, but if that is the typical day of a twitter employee then Elon is not going to notice 75% of the staff leaving the company.

Great timing as well since most companies aren’t hiring or laying people off. These fricks need to feel pain for a bit. Zero sympathy for anyone at Twitter

These people were already overpaid and it’s well known the had the best office lunches of any company.

No where else they are going to go will have that.

And judging by that video these people went from a college campus to a college campus and don’t know the real world.

I think he's probably actually asking people who are highly paid and loafing 30 hours a week, to actually work 40-50 hours a week.

The ones that want to dust off their resumes and go elsewhere? Nobody is stopping them... But every company is hurting right now, so good luck to them.

while there used to be some companies that did expect this, I’d imagine Elon would be ecstatic to get 40 out of Twitter employees. You have zero to base your insane assertion upon.

I would think Twitter is being flooded resumes of people who actually want to work for Elon at Twitter.

Just glad to see he brought back Ligma and Johnson. They would have been missed.

I've been there and done that for a large, growing company with a number of large stores. I laugh because I DO realize where he's going (and where he's been) with this work force.
In my work, it usually involved dealing with a newly acquired/under achieving store with lazy, arrogant and narrow-minded employees(mostly in mgt. positions). Just as he did, I would make sure they understood what was expected of them, THEN give them the opportunity to choose the direction they wished to take.
Although many left, or were dismissed because they weren't committed enough to our new environment, the ones that stayed were generally our best (and most likely to advance) employees.
