If I were him, there’s no chance I’m funding shite for the party that he just stuck his neck out for, only to have them stand on it.

Do we get to watch the politicians burn before it collapses? I for one, would like to witness death to the people that will ultimately kill the greatest nation in the world… and 350 Americans will suffer dearly at the hands of a few.

There’s something weird going on. Ron Johnson was on the All In podcast this morning and said he has asked Elon for the specific items/accounts so they can codify them in a rescission bill. Musk apparently kept blowing him off. Johnson said without the specifics their hands are tied.

You just have quoted the wrong post. There isn’t anything about murder in there.

I suspect you’re just lying again though.

It’s the same thing that always goes on. A dog and pony show with no substance.

Elon approached this wrong. He should have bought the GOP support. That's how business is done in Washington.

I think Musks time at DOGE is coming to an end. He's not getting what he wanted, and the attention is waning.

DOGE was temporary, at least ppl aren’t saying he’s president or running anything like the narrative was at first. The media just went for that. Now they should, but won’t, be exposing why Congress won’t make cuts to funding Afghanistan sesemee street and other bogus spending.

Congress really needs to be term limited, can’t profit off securities, whatever it takes to facilitate seats being held only be true public servants who only care about representing their constituents. It’s disgraceful.

Sounds like an excuse from Johnson. Do you really think that accessible records of what DOGE found aren’t available without direct contact with Musk?

They will never vote to limit themselves on their time to stack their bank accounts through corruption.

Trump significantly increased spending and the deficit last time he was president so I’m not sure why anyone believed him when he said things would be different this time. He’s just like every other politician.

Biden was slated to spend more than all of the dem candidates and Trump.

And he did. People voted for that and were willing to vote for it again.

And if you remove Covid, which pretty much everyone voted for, Trump isn’t even close to Biden.

So you can’t be mad about spending when you knowingly voted for a guy that wanted to spend more.

Mass immigration is a means of boosting GDP growth at the expense of productivity. Immigrants increase GDP because more people means more consumption, but it rarely increases consumption per person at the same rate. This results in population growth outpacing the growth in resources, goods, and services. Nominal GDP goes up, but real GDP per capita goes down. This contributes to an inflationary spiral where price increases outpace wage growth, ESPECIALLY with respect to housing.

To increase GDP as well as real per-capita GDP, we have to start creating more resources per dollar or using less input to get more output. This is generally accomplished by either removing barriers to growth of entrepreneurial spaces or by disruptive technological innovations arriving on the market that greatly reduce costs for a significant economic sector. A new labor-saving device, a new process that turns a waste product into a valuable input commodity, a breakthrough in mining that unlocks previously untapped resources, a breakthrough in transportation that lowers fuel costs or speeds up transit times, etc.

"Former member of Congress here.

Yes, I can answer.

Democrats don’t want to cut spending.
Republicans don’t want to cut spending.
Trump doesn’t want to cut spending.

GOP politicians praised DOGE because it gave them cred with the base, but they never intended to make the cuts.

And even if they did make the DOGE cuts, those cuts would be a drop in the bucket of what needs to happen to seriously bring down spending.

It’s all theater."

I tried to explain because I care about this country, freedom, liberty and justice and it does matter because it means that all we have is bullshite and they can take anything and everything we have anytime without any consequence or repercussion, and there isn’t anything we can do about it, and we are 1% so imagine what they can do to other people. And that I want to leave this country better than I found it and that I want it to be a good place for our children to grow up, etc.

But her response is that I am becoming a crazy person.

My father warned me life wasn’t going to ever be easy for me on the eve of his death when I was 18. I remember him explaining to me life was going to be easy for my brother as he was “happy go lucky” and talented and doesn’t worry about shite. He told me “ You have an innate sense of justice and fairness, any injustice or someone being getting fricked over really bothers you. The world is going to be a very tough place to you to deal with. “

Even as I have given up on being able to make a difference, and gotten old it still bothers me. But what difference does that make. Women make cowards and fools of us all.
