That's the very nature of the progressive movement. There is no end, they're always "progressing" to the next issue.
When Obama lit up the White House in rainbow colors after gay marriage passed, a lot of people saw that as the end of a long battle over gay rights. Nope, now we've moved on to "trans rights." That was never really a thing until gay marriage got settled. But they had to keep "progressing" to the next big issue instead of just being happy with gay marriage and moving on with their lives.

In other threads over there, they are caught in quite the quandary. On the one hand they want free college and student loans forgiven and paid back by taking the money from muh gub mint to do it....But on the other hand they are wringing their hands that if they do that, they are giving a trillion bucks to the richest people in the country!

I think that is a testament to how absolutely terrible the idea is. It is such a bad screw job to reasonably responsible people that even a DU poster can feel it. They're all for giving away other people's money and rarely can they fathom it is screwing an undeserving party.

I actually took out a home equity loan to pay for my kids college (I was debt free at the time). Now I have a mortgage again. About a month ago I emailed her campaign and asked if they were going to pay off my mortgage since it was all college debt. Their response was so bizarre I don't think they could comprehend my question.

Rex was not an ideological commie. He was a team player. His team was the Dems. They should always win. Republicans should always lose. If the Dems called for lower taxes and the GOP opposed, then Rex would be for lower taxes.

Hell, I've said it before. I don't think there's a single thing IN THE frickING WORLD that people generally like, that I couldn't get a majority of Democrats to support giving it away for free.

I wonder how much debt has been run up in recent years by people trusting that it would just go away as soon as the Dems get the reins of government back.
Honestly, it is only a matter of time before the they shift on this again until we basically end up at reparations for most people who went to college. They think they can solve anything with big enough piles of other people's money

Wife taught at Delgado (former trade school now community college in New Orleans) in the mid 90's. Because her students were barely able to read and write, the majority of her students received failing grades on their first test. Being a first time experience for many they complained to administration. So, she was called in by admin who told her they needed the census and pell grant money so she had to give at least a "C" to every student in her classes. She refused and Admin changed all of their grades at end of semester. She resigned.
