They don’t make any money and I could’ve never gotten tenure doing it but I would’ve enjoyed trying to be an objective non-PC sociologist.
If we could just better understand what’s truly driving these trends (low marriage rates, tribalism, etc) we might be able to get back on a sustainable path before AI and hitting the debt service wall shocks our culture beyond any saving.

Ask yourself a question. If you look around at a protest you go to and see the people in those pictures and don’t think to yourself “yikes I may have picked the wrong side” then there is no help for you and you are permanently lost

No absolutely not, my experience was the same.
The two profs I had were intersectional Marxist types before anyone had even coined that phrase and it was a total waste of time as a result.
I just meant it would be incredibly interesting to do that work in an objective way.

I'm always amazed to see how someone can be so obese that they deposit fat on their forearms. It takes a special level of slob to accomplish that.
