By the FTCs definition of a monopoly, Amazon doesn’t even come close to the required thresholds of market share.
Also the current US Trust laws are very much in Amazon’s favor since It will be almost impossible to prove they are harming consumers.
What Amazon is doing right now is not any different from what Walmart did during its growth stage.
This is just another attack by the President on the free markets that are the bedrock of the American economy.

I agree that Amazon skirts tax rules and should be held accountable. Lets figure out a "tax" and apply it to all internet sales....oh wait

It’s almost as if corporate tax is a just since every company optimizes its business structures for tasks anyway. Then the remaining costs get passed on to people anyway.
Yet some people on here would probably support Trump “going after” Amazon.

Amazon has actually been really good for a lot of small businesses. Their secondary seller platform allows thousands of smaller companies to have a easy to use platform that connects them to 10s of millions of Americans
This. They can sell all their shite through Amazon. It is a small business internet retail in a box. The local Dog Grooming shop that carries specialized items can't set up their own online storefront with nearly that kind of reach.

Amazon did nothing illegal. If the President has a problem with the U.S. Tax code he needs to get the congress to fix it legislatively.
This all boils down to the fact that Bezos owns the Washington Post and Trump cannot stand that.

Nothing like the Government interfering in the free market.
This is a valid point if free market existed in this country. I'd suggest you do some research on crony capitalism and regulations in this country.
Cliff notes: Large corporations use their clout to lobby and get vast amounts of regulations passed that make it difficult for smaller companies to compete.

seems cronyish. swampish even.

Ahhh so obviously the answer to crony capitalism is more crony capitalism. Brilliant!

I know so many hardcore MAGA people and they’re devout Amazon Prime members. Its goods and services transcend political parties.

You seem fascinated by penis. Is this new or a long-standing interest?

you will believe anything you read. Bezos should buy trumps debt and evict him.

Trump better not frick with my Amazon
Amazon made $5.4B in profit last year and paid ZERO in federal income tax.I'm not anti Amazon, but god damned that aint right. What good is a tax system if the highest earners can just find loopholes so that they end up paying nothing?
However, it is also true that Trump himself (and plenty of prominent Democrats by the way) used the exact same tax loophole to carry over losses from previous years to offset their taxes. I see the value of the deduction, but it should only be valid for so many years.

Trump fears the things he cannot control. Thus the reasons for his attacks on the free markets and press throughout his presidency.

I think this is a tricky decision. I mean is Amazon considered a monopoly, if not how much further along do they have to go to get that status? It was easy to bring the hammer down on Standard Oil. They did just fine after that.
No, not even close. How would you even define their market?
Facebook and Google are arguably a duopoly in online digital advertising, but Amazon is an entirely different beast.

That and the post office canard, which I expect he learned where he gets a lot of his misinformation, Fox and Friends.
