Trump won't sign housing bill (which will become law at midnight) in protest of inaction on SAVE Act.

Sorry for the CNN link

Trump should not allow any legislation placed on his desk to escape his veto power. The SAVE Act is the most important legislation to a majority of Americans. If election integrity legislation is not passed we're going to be seeing the same shite as the 2020 GE times 10.

It's a very popular bill. Anecdotally I've had a lot of my more "normie" friends and colleagues who aren't super political get fired up about him not signing. Not sure if he wants the heat, but if you're going to threaten not to sign something and don't get what you want you should follow through with the veto as a lame duck.

This bill expands section 8 into the suburbs. It’s a nightmare

I call bullshite. The vast majority of the public doesn't even know a single thing about the bill. I don't believe for a second your friends and colleagues who aren't political know ANYTHING about the bill or the threat from Trump.

Yup. Pure bullshite.

1. What is my incentive to lie?

2. Do you honestly believe people have to actually know anything about a policy to have a strong opinion on it in 2026?

Pocket veto not an option.

Sitting on it means it passes.

Only if the congressional session ends before the delay to sign.

Otherwise, it becomes law without his signature.

Hence, this thread.

If they aren't political they probably aren't aware of the bill or whether he intends to sign it or not

Sounds like made up nonsense

It's the poly board. People lie all day on here to make their point.

If I went outside and asked 100 people what bill is being voted on and which party supported the bill, I doubt a single person would be able to answer.

I would have to ask a larger sample size to find people who knew anything about the bill. So.... yeah, I don't buy for a second you have had lots of conversations with friends and colleagues about the bill.

My friends, colleagues and family are all political and not one has even mentioned the Housing Bill.

If he does nothing, doesn't it become law?

All it takes is one more Dem President and we are done as a country. Absolutely done and we may as well just stop discussing politics any longer if this happens.
