This has gone on for years...they speak out of their arse for whatever fits their narrative at a given time then flip on a dime, relying on the media to hoodwink the public and the low info voter's short memory spans.
Go back to 1997, the Dems were going apoplectic over the threat of Saddam's WMDs when Clinton was POTUS and "taking action" against him. Then they acted like they never said the things that are in the freaking Congressional record from a few years before when they were prancing around with the "Bush lied about WMD" crap.
Oh but we could find many other examples of their phony duplicity...look at their outrage over impeachment over Clinton. They threw every bit of shade out they could about it being unfair and over sex, blah blah but then craft an absolutely absurd impeachment against Trump when he broke NO laws unlike Clinton. The Dems went against every argument they had previously conjured up about fairness in the process.
The lack of dignity and standards they have is very hard to push back against as well because good and decent folks don't understand their language and tactics, nor their brazen disregard for common decency. It is very easy for them to take advantage of the situation over this as well. Which they gladly do as long as it gets them power!

Based off of what? It’s been one L on top of another for Trump since November.There’s been NOTHING to prove the election was rigged. Why is it going to change now?

Let me get this straight. You expect the defense to introduce something during discovery to prove they were not lying YET their initial defense was "it does not matter if we were lying".
Don't you think if they had the goods they would welcome the opportunity for trial instead of trying to stop it???

This could be possible. At present, the defense has presented a motion to dismiss. For that to succeed, they have to presume that everything the plaintiffs state is true, and if it is true, they still can't win under law. That doesn't preclude them from later contesting the accuracy of the plaintiffs claims, or making a defense that what they state is true. Those would be questions of fact that would be decided at the trial stage.
Right now, they are saying, "Even if I lied, I have a right to lie because this is politics." Judge is saying No to that point.
More to your underlying point though, the defense also seemed to best stating during oral arguments that "its hyperbole" and having the judge try to rule that "no reasonable person would believe [Powell's] claim" Similar to if I said, "Your talking out of your arse" Nobody would believe that literally. That's going to be tougher to walk back from.

Muh Pillow now has standing to conduct discovery. If they just were interested in the truth coming out, then they should not have even presented the Motion to Dismiss. They should have welcomed a full trial and full discovery.
