DOJ Tells Republican Congress Not to Expect Cooperation and Thank You

The U.S. Dept of Justice (DOJ) has sent a five-page letter to congress, copying Politico for the public distribution therein. SEE pdf HERE

The snarky and passive aggressive Lawfare tone inside the letter is rather remarkable in its sanctimony and condescension. Essentially, Main Justice is telling congressional oversight, specifically House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, not to expect any timely responses because there’s a lot going on.

Additionally, as the letter directly implies, Republican oversight is not in the favor of the current administration or DOJ and, well, in general terms, get over it – they aren’t complying. However, feel free to initiate the formal negotiation process that will likely take several years.
quote:

I think at this point everyone outside the professional political class in the Legislative Branch knew this was going to happen. However, the Republicans in Congress will likely pretend to be stunned by this development, Fox News Sean Hannity will be outraged by it, and then the RNC and RCCC will dispatch fundraising campaigns citing the refusal of the DOJ. Win, win, win… wash – rinse – repeat.

Predicting this approach was exactly why CTH said the House Subcommittee on Weaponized Government should not waste time looking for assistance, documents and or internal support from the various DC silos. Instead, the oversight committees need to go through the formal request process (blah, blah, blah) but focus their efforts at getting documents from the private sector collaborators outside the DC silo system.

The house holds the purse strings.
They need to do their job and slash the DOJ’s budget to just 1 administrator and 1 attorney.

Jim Jordan should send a subpoena to both Christopher Wray and Merrick Garland requiring them to appear before Congress between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. every day for the next two years (including Saturday and Sunday). If either one balks, Jim Jordan should send the Capital Police to arrest them as they have already established (Steve Bannon) that not appearing before a Congressional hearing is a criminal offense.

Down with Libs and their co-conspirators

The indignance is astounding.

And people cannot see how they get away with cheating on elections and every thing they legislate.

The GOP won't. Do. shite. About. It.

They'll scream at the sky, sit on their hands, and ask you for money

The Dems learned a long time ago that it’s better to stall and look guilty, than to cooperate and prove that you are.

The south should have attacked and burned DC when they had the chance. It was a fatal flaw

This entire situation is the result of Congress not doing its job regarding oversight, and delegating more and more of its power to the Deep State agencies.

Deep State is all grown up and not so subtly showing who's boss.

Unfortunately, our Republican friends in the Senate neutered the incoming Republican House’s ability to do this for at least the next year.

The best we can hope for us that they leverage the debt ceiling issue to push for a better outcome on this issue. But we know that won’t happen.

This is why these government department officials need to be elected officials accountable to voters rather than the political party who appointed them.

Draw up the Papers stating their case (political bias/unequal application of Law) for the Record, and impeach Garland. ASAP. Why not? The Dems would have sacked Barr in a NY second if he hadn't went corrupt.

Money is the answer. Pull 25% from their budget if they don’t get the information they are requesting. No negotiating. No hand wringing. An actual consequence to the Deep State for doing Deep State stuff

You hold them hostage. Not the other way around.
