- The U.S. Department of Justice is suing to break up Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster, over alleged antitrust violations.
-The lawsuit follows a DOJ probe launched in 2022 and bolstered by fan complaints following a botched roll out for tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras tour.
-Through Ticketmaster, Live Nation controls roughly 80% or more of major concert venues’ primary ticketing for concerts, the complaint said.

This is like the time they tried to break up Microsoft. Even if they succeed, will there really be any change for the average consumer?

well tay tay is a HUGE money source to bring in DNC donations, they help her, she makes more money, so the DNC makes more money

It was obvious it was going to be a monopoly when they allowed the deal to proceed. It's just silly to be doing this now, but better late than never. Good thing they have priorities set correctly.

Kids don’t pay for this shite..it’s parents and sports fans getting marked up 25% on both sides of transactions.
This isn’t an either or situation. They have taken over the event market and making crazy money with nominal investment or risk by gauging both sides with fees and controlling venues. While also making it impossible for competition.
