It's just an idea, not actually earned income.

Huh? why the frick would a drug dealer do this? they are paid in cash. Any dealer using crypto to launder money is a fricking moron.
you missed the point
i was using the comparisons of cash (for drug dealer) and crypto (for normies). the government has already regulated cash so much (via the WOD) that you can see how difficult it is to spend cash in any meaningful way by looking at drug dealers. it will be the same with crypto if they really want to make it as hard

Do you know how hard it is to spend cash or anything of real value?

They can’t stop this thing.

I've yet to understand why someone would use bitcoin as a currency. It's too volatile and there is too much belief it will rise in value.
It's the block chain aspect of it.

Bitcoin mania reminds me of the Dutch tulip bulb mania of many years ago. When the the market mania reached it's peak and demand faded away, the public finally realized that they truly had only nominal value and then the bottom truly fell out. Many families, some of whom had sold or mortgaged their homes and businesses in order to obtain cash to invest in tulip bulbs, ended up cooking and eating their life savings in the form of cooked tulip bulbs and even then they were disagreeable tasting even of properly prepared.
How do you cook Dogecoin or Bitcoin bits and bytes to get tasty and nutritious bites for your family?

Sure they can spend small amounts of cash. But they can't make large purchases without the government having their hands in it. I guess if a dealer wants to buy a house or car one brick or part at a time they could get away with it.

Given the rates of adoption globally, I find it probable that you are the one in denial.
But you assume just because the government is stupid today that they will always be stupid. When it comes to stealing their citizens money, they always find a way. And if it is as you envision a complete replacement of government backed fiat, then they will find a way to get their share.

About as well as prohibition.

This will lead to the Feds coming up with their own new and improved cryptocurrency. Then they will push it on us more than vaccines and masks.
Think of the "benefits"- avoid germy cash, universal currency across the globe, easy for you (and the government to track), no longer have to keep up with credit cards and stolen identities because we can put it all in a chip on your wrist...

Who you gonna crush?
The wallet holders.
Once people realize there will be no outlets for their coins, they will panic sell. But there will be few buyers. You'll have a nice fat wallet, but nowhere to go to access the government based blockchain. Not even in China. Because they will have their own government backed crypto.
