Probably 1 or 2 others - hell if Lindsey Graham weren’t in an election year I could see him saying he’d not vote to approve
There are many compelling arguments that will persuade them to vote, but reality is we don’t need them to vote yes, just abstain. We can lose six senators as long as they don’t vote no.
And after the utter bullshite heaped on this country this year by Dems, any Republican not voting for a conservative justice better change parties immediately.

Whoever is up for re-election better make a wise decision.

Having Trump is 1000 times better than having a 5.5 to 3.5 SCOTUS edge. The Dems would add 4 Senate seats from DC and Puerto Rico plus pack SCOTUS within 4 years

Honestly I disagree
Name the major US policy changes in the last 20 years that were not permanently enacted through the Supreme Court?
There are none

Good stuff - this could be a way around it. Honestly I hope I’m wrong on this initial take I had. I can change my mind when presented with reason and facts

Probably the best, most concise post on this topic tonight in general. The freakout is for nothing, this next justice will be confirmed without ONE TENTH of the battle that was the Kavanaugh debacle.
We got this.

That's not the way this works

Not at all since the dems are playing the long game well beyond this presidential election. None of this will matter once the county is majority Hispanic and Texas turns blue and every national election is rendered pointless thereafter.
That’s easier said than done. Since they have gone all in on BLM they are losing a lot of the Hispanic vote. That’s the problem with identity politics, focus too much on one identity group and you risk losing another.

Seriously short sighted to be more worried about trump than the court.
Even if trump wins, he won't control the purse string branch. And whatever he rolls out could be changed in 4 years after a new president takes his spot.
The court rulings last for centuries. 2A, free speech cases related to social media, personal data used by big tech, etc will all be coming down the pipes soon.
Those rulings will be monumental
Trump is important for optics, not long term policy
I get you are emotional invested in trump, but think logically

they've known for months that she'd die before the election. Why do you think 2020 has been so apeshit?

You need to relax.
1) A justice will be nominated.
2) There will be a circus around the nomination.
3) Mitch will get the justice approved.
It's that simple.
Go enjoy your NFL.

This.
Stacking the court is x100 times more important than reelecting Trump, IMO.

I would argue that stacking the court gives Trump a second term.

Trump wont lose support for nominating now.
The alternative is waiting while we have tenuous mail in voting in a presidential election with an even number of justices.
It is what it is. Need to go for it.
And this will take some focus off coronavirus and put it back on ugly dem tactics if he nominates a woman (for sure) and they try to cut her down.
The lefties are 1000% about abortion. But for their view point what's the worst that could happen? 3rd term gets banned except for physical life of mother (small % anyway and has large majority support) and the rest get sent to the states to decide? Is that what people see?
