In the US, anyone can win an election with enough money and the media promoting you. See Barack Obama for additional clarity.
Time and results will determine the viability of that individual or administration.

This is one of the most smooth-brained posts I've ever read on here. Congrats

You have to be an expert to know that people in jails were arrested and brought there by police officers in police cars?

That's quite the reach. Your position is that the electorate in this country is largely educated on the policy stances of political candidates and thoughtfully select the candidate with positions that align most closely with their personal beliefs?

Very good point actually. Surely you see that the elections are decided before the candidates are chosen. People in power hand place the candidates into the election. Voters merely chose between the candidates. Elections are controlled in this fashion. Simple process really. Occasionally someone breaks through this barrier, but it is not often, as I am sure you are aware.

What do elections even prove? We don’t vote for experts who can solve specific problems (because that isn’t who runs for office, generally); we vote for people we like.
Speaking truth and common sense on the Poli Board, you must be new here but I like your youthful optimism!

It all seems so stupid. Our economy seems just as fake and pointless, too.
Wow, more truth!
Think about this ...
Step #1 Write out 4 Quadrillion in longhand on a sheet of paper to get the full visual effect.
Step #2 What does that 4 Quadrillion represent in the global economy
Step #3a If you guessed correctly you have taken the time for what comes next
Step #3b If you guessed incorrectly, you will be one of the first to die

If you have math skills, figure the probability of this outcome
#1 Probability of R & D POTUS candidate attended the same university
#2 Probability of R & D POTUS candidate were in the same secret society at said university
Just to be clear, they were both in the same election year, not in different years.

The US has more lawyers per capita than anywhere in the world.
We should have a movement to steer bright young people into ANY other career path.
You take a smart kid, rot his brain with pedantic nonsense, maximize his pay as his pedanticism rises, and he is useless to do anything else.
Think of the brain drain, so many people rendered useless to ever produce anything productive.
word of the day:
Pedanticism refers to the character or practices of a pedant, as excessive display of learning1. A pedant is a person who is excessively concerned with formalism and precision, or who makes an ostentatious and arrogant show of learning2. Pedantic is an insulting word used to describe someone who annoys others by correcting small errors, caring too much about minor details, or emphasizing their own expertise especially in some narrow or boring subject matter3.
