I think Trump's sentencing is coming up in the next 2-3 weeks, is Merchan dumb enough to sentence Trump with some jail time?

Trump should just become a fugitive from NY and never return there

No way. He’ll get suspended sentence/probation and maybe a fine.

And then Trump will win on appeal and the convicted felon bullshite goes away

If Trump had lost, definitely. The fact that Trump won means he better think seriously about his next move. I don't even know if they'll allow the sentencing to move forward since he's the official President Elect, though

My guess is that Marchan will sentence him to some minimal jail time, but allow him to post bond and to stay out pending appeal. They all know this complete fricking farce of a fraudulent case is going to be overturned on appeal. At this point, that’s the best they can hope for.

Trump needs to start an investigation into Merchan’s daughter, Alvin Bragg, Fannie Willis, Letisha James and the entire lot.

You are making the dangerous assumption that the left has the ability to self reflect and make the smart move rather than the vindictive move.

I expect Trump to be sentenced and it will be one of the biggest political mistakes ever.

They are still too blinded by their own ideology to see that every move like this they make, Trump gets more popular.

I think he will. What is there to lose for him? He will permanently etch his name in the social circles of NYC's elite. It will give the leftists a talking point for four years.

I can see them using this a a ploy. Give him the maximum sentence and have him immediately remanded to custody knowing that it likely won't stick. Just to try and completely disrupt the transition.

They will probably declare a mistrial given the SCOTUS ruling on inadmissable evidence and not even have a sentencing hearing, to save face and avoid blwoback.

Can't do it until he's sworn in but he could send a message to the judge and let him know what's coming if he wants to keep playing the lawfare game.

The entire force of the US government needs to be used to absolutely destroy the lives of every person that played a role in the law-fare schemes against Trump. This must be as extreme as possible so in the future the legal professionals are terrified of colluding with political parties to attack high profile candidates. Really the only group of people that need to be completely obliterated and it needs to be as public as possible.

Can the governor of NY pardon him? Trump had his back at the Al Smith dinner.

Swap a state pardon for a federal pardon?
