The obvious counterpoint is that every single committee is weaponized against him. JD Pritzker’s wife is on the Committee for the Preservation of the White House, along with 16 other people appointed by the Biden administration (out of 30). You think they’re going to approve anything he submits? (They’re not.)

Yet many executive mansions do have ball rooms, a ball rom isn't what makes something a palace. Is the governors mansion in Georgia a palace or a Greek revival style mansion?

Families are hurting.
I have little to no sympathy for these “families”. Peek behind their doors and you’ll find tens of thousands of dollars pissed away by them on items ranging from expensive coffee to flat screens, game consoles, tons of clothes they do wear and luxury automobiles. The money is right in front of these people but they have no ability to control their spending and then want to howl like crazy because the economy isn’t outpacing their spending

I think it will be bad arse!! It’s actually mind blowing to me that something like this doesn’t already exist.

The East Room exists, but became too small for anything over 200 guests.

I am baffled as to why people continue posting comparisons to the Truman-era rebuild of the White House. The two projects have essentially nothing in common with one another, other than the fact that both involve the White House. An archetypal apples/oranges comparison.
The Truman-era project was basically an emergency intervention with regard to a building that was essentially falling down from a century of minimal care and maintenance. For example, many support beams were completely eaten through by termites. The project was essential and was approved and funded by Congress, and it was fully vetted by the Trust before any work was done.
None of those issues are consistent with regard to the Trump rebuild of the East Wing.
I will not call this a “vanity project“ because I agree with Trump that a ballroom-type facility would indeed be quite handy for the executive branch, but it is absolutely not a necessity, it was not approved by Congress, and it was not vetted by the Trust.

No, you hate it because Trump built it and you hate anything he does because you have TDS.

Architectural design by panel has given us the drab soulless built world we have now.
Gimme Trumpian gaudy over-the-top rococo over that shite all day every day.

That meme gave me a chuckle...
Fwiw, the Kenyan's $375m vast "renovation" was initiated for the most part to create additional floors and build out subterranean infrastructure beneath the WH. Most likely pre-planned and pre-scheduled by whomever is in charge of those things.
So, not so much a vanity project ordered by The Kenyan.

Maybe not being so gullible from what the msm says would do wonders for your mental health
The specific msm link I quoted "88 ft" from was from FNC. There were dozens more that corroborated the "88 ft" number.
So who is lying?

Well you and your information, I was assured with that with the 88 reference

Buildings in dc are always under rennovation.
People usually don't care.
I don't see a downside in increasing the size of the Presidential Palace/ white house.
It's keeping the aesthtic.
It's a non issue. Probably a dozen other projects going on in dc no one cares about. It's only because it's Trumps plan.
But i read Bill Clinton and W both propsed Ballroom additions.
But 9/11 slowed plans down.
