If you want a president who is strong on traditional conservative values: will fight for a secure border, is pro-life, wants lower taxes, less government expansion, espouses lower deficits, and a pushes for a stonger military, then DeSantis is your guy. He will do a fine job in all of those items - probably better than Trump.

If you want somebody who is willing to take on the uniparty, expose corruption, and shake up the entrenched political operatives running our government agencies, then Trump is the man for that job.

I don't think most would disagree with this.

My personal view is that without exposing the uniparty's going ons, we will never be in a position to make any serious conservative reforms. Abortion, the border, the deficit, racism, etc, are all wedge issues that both parties use to stir up their base and therefore they don't really have much incentive to resolve. They "fight" for us, give impassioned speeches, and barely move the needle. Keep us distracted and we don't see that our elected leaders are getting richer, more powerful, and more entrenched.

I'm sure others believe the opposite, that the issues are the issues and we just need to win them one at a time. Washington DC may be corrupt, but it's just party politics, and we can live with that.

IYO, which is it?

I'll take either as well. I really want RFK Jr. to run as an independent though. That would bode well for either.

Trump is the man for giving Biden 4 more years.

And what did Trump do in his first term that accomplished what you say he will accomplish in his second?

To be either Never Ron or Never Trump when the alternative is the fricking groomers let by a senile fool is monumentally stupid.

IMO, they beat each other up and in the end damage each other to a point where each becomes “unelectable”.

We will have no other choices....

You know what you have with TRUMP, and Desantis is a crapshoot.

TRUMP gets my vote, period.

Exactly why Russia changed Jon Ham’s programming from shoes to Ron.

Ron is the first politician in my lifetime (at least of any significant status) who goes to the media and people and not only makes our case, but explains in detail why we believe what we believe and refutes the opposition in similar detail.

Whether he'll get anything done, get corrupted by DC, etc. - I don't really know.

But I'll roll the dice on his campaign as I've been waiting for it for a long time.

It’s not an either or. I’m happy to vote for either in the GE. The primary is my God-given right to express my views for any particular candidate I want. It also serves as a mechanism to coerce the winner to adopt some positions of those who lost (if their base of support is significant)to unite the party. I don’t have the same level of freedom in the GE because I am usually voting against the other guy.

I can say, as of right now, RD appeals to me more than Trump because I can recognize a certain level of competence in getting things done. Trump was the turn the table over guy that we needed. Now we need to implement actual change that lasts. I voted for Trump twice, went to a few rallies, and did multiple boat parades.

But if RD doesn’t win, I’m voting for Trump.

He had 3-4 opportunities to do so and he failed bigly in that.

Has overtaken the Michigan poster as the most psychologically frail poster in the history of PT.

Congrats.

Which is what he did during his first term. Oh wait

Amazing how people still assume that any non-Establishment candidate will ever win again.

Fraud hasn't been fixed.

Ron will face the same, well oiled voting fraud machine that Trump will. The polarization of the "factions" on this board is indicative of exactly how ill conservatism is. We're on life support and feeding the cancer.

I agree. I see a lot of posts trying to convince us that one or the other is bad for the country. They have different strengths, but both are infinitely better than Biden.

I'm asking which do you think we need at this moment? I think 4 years of Trump and then have DeSantis in office in '28 or even '32 would be great for our country.

I think DeSantis will be good for the country, too, but I don't see him overturning the status quo, and he will still coexist with the Mitch McConnells, Nancy Pelosis, and the unelected bureaucrats will keep on doing what they do...

I would, based on his first four years. I'll take either of them but Trump got teabagged for four straight years by the entrenched political operatives who run our government agencies. And he's gotten dumber.

Nope.

But you actually ARE the sort that will usher that along.
