We are currently divorcing, but it's a U-Haul divorce. 700k people moved out of California last year.

No. It is total nonsense and practically impossible.
It would also make the life of every single person in the United States worse in just about every measurable way.
If the nation was simply governed as intended and implemented by the Constitution, this wouldn't even be a conversation. Reversion to the original federalist principles, not splitting into multiple smaller, weaker, and STILL politically-divided entities, is the path forward

I think progressive policy is generally quite destructive to our infrastructure, social fabric, and personal well-being, but I’m not such a blind polarized fool to think splitting an already primary target on the world stage wouldn’t result in us ALL be getting fricked in the long run.
Unless your plan is to eventually control the blue areas, you are losing vital infrastructure and funding that will absolutely make us targets for takeover. You can think that your armaments and rations will hold you over but we are already helpless in respect to enacting healthy political change, it seems.
Whoever ends up controlling those tanks and the ridiculous battery of arms doesn’t necessarily hold your same values.
Transparency in funding of politics, intensive voter ID verification, vote tabulation transparency and potential overhaul, and a massive crackdown on ANY policy that inhibits free speech are the only way out of this mess. And boy, are we ever deeply entangled in this web already.
If you support a national divorce, it’s obvious there is a lot you haven’t thought through.
