i saw a stat just recently showing that in 1970 the white population of the US was 83% and now its down to 56%

That's primarily because white people stopped having babies and the white people who are more likely to have multiple babies are having more babies with non-white partners.
An interesting stat would be white population in 1970 v. population with at least one white grandparent in 2026. I bet the difference aren't nearly as stark.

I mean, id like to see a real argument stating how its NOT happening in europe for once. 
Because, man, really believing so is pretty much a tacit sign of support for it.
As for the US - currently there isnt enough to favor it - too much can be explained simply by democrats trying to get more illegals in the US cheat elections

It's happening but not because someone engineered it. We became affluent and stopped having kids. At the same time we developed a social safety net that relied on an ever increasing economy. We need human fodder to make this happen.

I explained it in the post to which you responded. It’s the same reason Republicans are generally in favor of it.
The country needs a growing economy to support the massive government spending (the same spending that gives our politicians their power). The economy has not been able to grow enough, without a quickly growing population, because productivity growth, while good, has not been THAT good. Therefore, they need the working age population to grow. The native born population is stagnant to shrinking, therefore they need immigrants.

If we need working-age taxpayers, why not use a selective, merit-based system that prioritizes needed skills and a willingness to assimilate? You’re treating immigrants like interchangeable economic widgets while ignoring the social, fiscal, and political costs. How convenient!

Sheer laziness. In order to do as you suggest they would have to pass difficult legislation increasing immigration quotas and building a legal immigration infrastructure. This would face huge opposition from nativists on the right and one-worlders on the left. These are big parts of the bases of the two parties and they wield an outsized influence.
You are onto something when you suggest it is intentional as an attempt to replace white people. There is a sector of the left that is motivated by exactly that. It’s just a small minority of the coalition that has kept this going for about 60 years.
I think Trump has the right idea. Starve the economy of the illegals and make it political suicide to open the borders again. Only then will the hard work of building out a legal immigration framework be done.
